The Hogwarts Express

The rest of the summer came and went.. I spent my days at the headquarters of the order and stayed at home with my sister and Remus when the sun set. I got to meet the famous Harry Potter, he seemed very timid and worried the entire time we spent at grimmauld place. I met his other best friend Hermione Granger, who the only thing i generally had in common with her was we both loved to read. other than that Her, Ron and Harry kept to themselves in various places of the house. I got to know my cousin more as the days went on and we would mess with each other changing into our animangus form and prancing around the house.. Ginny and I were really close, She was very laid back and she was someone I could trust with any secret I could tell. And of course there were the twins... Fred, George and I were practically glued at the hip.. I would show them various spells, well tell them since im underage and currently enrolled at Hogwarts. I think it bugged Hermione that she was no longer the smartest apparently. The twins and I would prank Ron most of the time, since Harry seemed too sad and Ginny was basically like my best friend, The twins were hilarious and fun and a breath of fresh air from my troubled life, and I loved being around them...I could only hope I would be in the same house as them..

Right now I was getting ready at our apartment to leave for the Hogwarts express. I wanted to look my best for the first time at Hogwarts, I was wearing white skinny jeans with a baby blue tank top that had a bow that flowed from the top. I fastened my brown sandals around my ankles and finished my hair. I decided on a messy bun with curls falling around my face. I grabbed my wand and tossed my sketch book into my bag before I apperated to Kings cross station with my sister and Remus.

"Ok, now you have everything you need right?" Nymph asked as she pulled me into a bone crushing hug. Remus just chuckled and pried her off my small body. "Sis ill be fine. Ill owl if I need you ok" i told her kissing her cheek before turning to Remus. "Don't let her worry too much" i chuckled and hugged him quickly before getting onto the train. The train was magnificent, it was burgundy with gold siding and lettering that of course said the Hogwarts express. It was longer than I ever imagined like it could fit thousands of people if need be...

I looked for a couple minutes for any sign of a familiar face on the train, when something caught my eye..

I would recognize that hair anywhere.. That platinum hair belonged to my cousin Draco, He was sitting in a compartment with a few other boys and a girl that seemed to be latched onto his arm. I needed to talk to him so taking a deep breath I swiftly yanked open the compartment door..

The compartment went silent..One of the boys smirked at me with crooked teeth and made me severely uncomfortable, the other two seemed unfazed, The girl latched to my cousin was actually rather pretty but the scowl on her face made her unattractive.. Draco..Well he looked like he was studying me for something..

"Umm Draco?" I asked making sure it really was my cousin.. "Draco, who is that?" The girl said rubbing his arm up and down and sneering in my direction, I just rolled my eyes and leaned against the doorway.

"I haven't seen you in eight years D" I said softly.. He seemed to realize who I was when I used the nickname I used on his as a child. "out" he said firmly. Two of the pudgy looking guys quickly left without a problem. The tall boy with the ugly teeth walked past me and ran is hand down my cheek making me shiver, and not in a good way either. "Ill be seeing you gorgeous" He whispered..I almost threw up in my mouth with that one. The girl sitting with him obviously didn't get the point. "Pansy get out" He said roughly and forced her to stand up. She walked past me, hit my shoulder roughly with hers and huffed away following the other boys.

Draco stood up and shut the door before, looking me up and down. "V?" he whispered. I hated being Veronica but as kids Draco and I loved calling each other D and V since they rhymed.

I nodded and he pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank god your ok" He whispered in my ear and i cried happy tears onto my cousins shoulder. After loosing my parents, Finding family i thought was lost for good makes me happy beyond words..

"How are you? Hows aunt sissy?" I asked as we sit beside each other on the bench. He just laughed "I'm great, I'm a prefect this year. And mum is well..Shes mum" I just Leaned my head to the side and admired how much he has grown up since I saw him last. His hair is shaggy and longer, hes a hell of a lot taller and he looks almost like a man..but hell always be my baby cousin to me. The one that I would climb trees with and pretend sticks in the backyard were our wands.

"Hows aunt Andromeda?" He asked me smiling. That was like a kick in the stomach. His family obviously doesn't know what happened. I felt warm tears start pouring out of my eyes again, and before I could respond I heard the door slam open and two very identical angry voices in the doorway....

"MALFOY!" Fred and George shouted with their wands pointed at Draco. In an instant I was on my feet blocking Draco from their view. "Whoa guys, whats the matter?" I asked putting their arms down. But they just shot them right back up in his direction.

"Your crying! He hurt you!" Fred growled in our direction. "WHAT! are you two that daft!" i shouted back at them. Draco stood up beside me, "What are you going to do weasley? curse me? I'm a prefect you know!" Draco said gently pushing me behind him.

"Yes i think we might just do that Malfoy" George said sneering Draco's name. I looked up to Draco to see him smirking and unfazed at the twins behaviour.

"Fred. George, I need to talk to Draco" I ssaid stepping back in front of my cousin. "No we will not leave you in here with this slytherin scum"

"You bloody idiots, shes my cousin my crying out loud!" Draco finally yelled before slinking into the seat. Are the twins that oblivious to the fact that Sirius is my cousin so that makes me kin to the Black family...

The guys finally lowered their wands before turning their attention to me. "He's really your cousin?" they asked together. I nodded, "My mother and his were sisters"

"were?" i heard Draco ask behind me as he stood back up, I slinked my head down before nodding at the twins signalling them to leave us alone, They thankfully understood and closed the door to leave us alone.

I turned my head to face him, and the tears once more were flowing from my eyes. Draco must have understood as a single tear fell from his baby blues. He stoof up to pull me back into a tight hug, "When?" he whispered as he rubbed my back confortingly.

"six months ago" i whispered back, he pulled away and we sat back down. "Why didnt anyone tell us?" he asked me. "I dont know Draco, but you need to tell you mum." I stood up from my seat not wanting to tell him exactly what happened, I hated in my heart what my mother did and I never told anyone how she died..

"Ill see you at school D" i said before exiting the compartment and parayed he wouldent follow me.. Because if I had to explain the death of my mother I might have a breakdown in the middle of this train...
