Not technically being a student a Hogwarts definitely did have its perks...I wandered back into the castle stinking drunk at two AM and nobody said a thing to me....not that anyone was around except the occasional ghost, but still it was nice to not have a curfew. I knew though the second I drank that third fire whiskey that i was going to regret it and boy did I....But I couldn't help it, I just couldn't believe that My cousin and best friend had both become death eaters, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it....
The next morning I woke up in my dorm with the worst headache of my life....It felt like someone had cast "stupefy" on my skull over and over again. I moaned and quickly downed an anti-hangover potion I kept in my side table drawer and felt instantly better.
The other girls in my dorm were all starting to wake up as well, and seeing some of my friends around me made me smile. Hermione was stretching in the bed next to me, and I smiled seeing her unruly hair sticking up in all directions. Parvati was on her other side and was flipping through one of her school books that was rested on her side table. My bed was beside the door, which was handy last night so I could just hop in the bed quickly without waking anyone up.
When i knew my hangover was gone I hopped out of bed and stretched my arms above my head. I smiled now realixing this would be my first official day working as a healer in training here at Hogwarts and I was so excited. "Morning Ronnie" Hermione said smiling as she walked past me with the towel over her shoulder. "Morning Mione" I said smiling as she closed the bathroom door and turned on the shower.
The rest of the girls were just lagging around trying to get ready as slow as possible for their first day, I however was an eager beaver and was ready in record time. I slipped on my robe that Molly made me for graduation, along with some black ballet flats that were comfy enough to run around in if need be. My hair didn't want to cooperate so i just tossed it in a high ponytail on the top of my head.
When I was ready i skipped down the stairs into the common room and took in the happy sights of the brand new students who were so excited to start. I remember that's how I felt last year when I came here for the first time, Hogwarts in all its magic and beauty was enough to captivate anyone. I skipped happily down to the fifth floor where the hospital wing was located. Madam Pomfrey was inside tending to a younger students broken nose. "Hello Madam Pomfrey" I said cheerfully as I set my healer books on the back desk. "Good morning Ms. Tonks" She said with a smile, advising the student not to trip down the stairs and sending him on his way.
"Ready to start your training" She asked, setting some equipment down on the cart beside her desk. I nodded eagerly causing her to laugh, and we got to work....
I loved what I was doing so much...I got to stay at the castle I loved so much and learn everything there was to know about becoming a healer. The day was pretty busy considering it was the first day of classes.. I had to fix several broken noses of first years, A sprained ankle on Seamus who claimed who tripped down the stairs, but a laughing Dean Thomas who brought him in proved otherwise.
I few students came in needing the anti-dote for the puking pastels from Weasley Wizard Wheezes, and i was happy people were still in love with their products. It was a long day as i hung up my robe next to Madam Pomfreys in the back of the wing. I was tired and ready to go to bed "Your a fast learner Ronnie" Madam Pomfrey said smiling as she changed the sheets on one of the beds. "Thank you" I said softly, suppressing a yawn. "You did well today, have a nice night" She said waving me out of the room. I waved her goodbye, grabbed a quick dinner from the kitchen and headed to my dorm....
There were several letter waiting for me on my desk when I arrived. All the girls in the dorm were already sleeping, so I got ready for bed quietly and began to read my letters....
Ronnie,
Hope everything is well! Just wanted to wish you luck on your first day baby sister! Remus says hello and we both are so proud of you! Since your a working girl, you can treat us to a butterbeer when you get back. Sorry this is so short, we need to get back to work, ugh... Love you so much Sis.
Tonks.
I smiled and placed my sisters letter in my drawer before opening my next letter.
Ronnie,
I miss you already and it's only been a day. Owl me and let me know when your first Hogsmeade trip is so i can take you on a proper date ;-) I cant wait to see you again, Christmas is too long to have to wait to see your gorgeous face again. Everything is well here, other than Fred being a crazy nutter since everything that happened, but that's his own fault. Have to head out to work now, just wanted to let you know Im thinking about you
Love, George.
Oh George, one day gone and I miss him something awful. He is my best friend, and given the status of Aimee, I cant have anything to do with her, her job now is to do the dark lord's bidding...we are on opposite sides now, no matter how much it kills me to see how sad her and my cousin look. Speaking of which, the handwriting on my last letter was just his...
V
Please don't hate me...I had no choice.
D.
And that was all it said...I know he would never do that by choice, but I really didn't know how to help him with this. If I get in the way of what he was sent to do, they will kill me...Im a target of the dark lord since I am one: not a pureblood two: considered a traitor because of the Black family blood that runs through my veins, and Three: I tried to kill Fenrir Greyback and my aunt Bellatrix, that alone will make them kill me on sight....I just wanted to survive this year.
I placed Draco's letter with the rest of them and fell asleep after tossing and turning for hours, thinking of the days to come.....
