My head was killing me when I woke up a few hours later, and the hospital wing was buzzing with chatter from various people. It was dark outside I could see, so I must have not been asleep for very long. Whatever potion Madam Pomfrey gave me earlier must have worked better than I thought because my head felt amazing. I slid out of my bed to help with whatever needed to be done, and grabbed my robe that was hanging by the front doors.
Students were crying in huddles around the room, and teachers were walking around with solemn looks to their faces. It was then I remembered that Dumbledore was dead, and seeing the devastating looks on everyone's faces brought tears to my eyes. "Ronnie" I heard behind me and whipped around to see George standing there, looking down on me. I wiped the tears from my eyes and ran into his open arms, he ran comforting stroked with his hands down my back. "He's really gone, isn't he?" i asked into his chest. I felt his red head nod against the top of mine and mumble a yes into my hair.
I looked up to see George looking even more somber than than normal, even with the situation at hand. "What else Georgie?" I asked resting my chin against his chest. "Greyback attacked Bill" he told me, his eyes looking at something behind me. I gasped and turned around to see the oldest Weasley boy laying in a bed across the room with a bandage across his face. I let go of George and ran over to him, slightly knocking Madam pomfrey out of the way. I peeled back the bandage and winced seeing the three terrible scars running across his eye. "I've done all there is to be done Ronnie" Madam Pomfrey told me, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head and ran over to my desk in the back and grabbed a vial of potion I had been working on. I had been working on different potions in my free time, this one happened to be one that immediately healed werewolf scars. I made things like these in the off chance that me or any of my friends came in contact with Fenrir Greyback. Creating potions like this had always came rather easy to me, and this one along with a special wolfsbane potion, one that if drank within immediate contact with the werewolf would prevent transformation, were just a few that I had made.
I poured the potion onto a small rag and then proceeded to gently place it along Bill's wounded eye. He stirred slightly in his sleep before relaxing shortly after. I smiled as i watched the three ugly scars slowly dissapear off of Bill's handsome face. "Ronnie, how did you do that?" Madam pomfrey asked in shock from behind me. I removed the bandage off of his face and tossed it into the trash bin, before getting off of his bed. "Just something I came up with" i said shrugging, and handing her the remnants of the potion that was in my hand. "You sure are something else Miss. Tonks" She said with a sad smile, that I'm sure would have reached her eyes had our headmaster not been dead.
"Your amazing" George said when he took me back into his arms. I sighed wrapping my arms again his waist once more. George kissed the top of my head before pulling me over to a bench to sit down, and we laced our hands together while we slowly waited for news of what was to come ...news about what would be happening to everyone around us....
Dumbledore's funeral was the next day, and it was a lot harder than I would have ever imagined. I was asked to speak a few words, along with Harry. Hagrid, bless his heart tried hard to get a speech out but ended up blubbering all over himself. It felt like everyone in the wizarding world had attended, I felt like miles of rows of seating were in front of his open casket and I had never seen so many witches and wizards in one place. It just felt like hope was denigrating around us, my family was dying slowly as the years passed, and with Dumbledore gone it was as if the dark lord really was in charge of everyone....it was as if he had the most power out of anyone in the world.
I found myself with Harry, Ron and Hermione in the astronomy tower after his funeral. George, Ginny and the rest of Ron's family had headed back to the burrow and would pick us up at kings cross station when we all headed home for the summer. "I'm not coming back next year" Harry said suddenly as I looked up to see him standing with Hermione looking over at the Hogwarts grounds. I was sitting on the stairs beside Ron, fiddling with my wand between my fingers.
I had figured Harry wouldn't want to come back next year, it was up to him to make sure the dark lord didn't succeed in taking over the wizarding world. "Were coming too mate" Ron said beside me, causing me to look over at him. Ron had stood and walked over to his two best friends, and then all three of them turned and looked at me. Harry's eyes were pleading with me, asking me something he would never ask out loud. "We need you Ronnie" Ron finally said, looking between Harry and I.
I sighed and looked away from their burning eyes, pretending to tie the shoes on my sneakers. "I don't know guys" I said finally.
The three of them walked over to me and sat on either side of me, Harry to my left and Hermione to my right, Ron stood in front of me....I was trapped between the golden trio who I knew needed my help in what they were trying to do. "Snape is headmaster now, the students will need someone here to look after them...after Ginny" I said looking from Harry to Ron as i mentioned the girl who meant so much to both of them. Harry sighed and dipped his head before reaching over and grabbing my hand in his.
"I want to protect Ginny as much as you do, but we both know if the death eaters take over then your on the top of their list. And if your at Hogwarts your giving them easy access to find you" He said. Harry was right though, from what I hear Snape killed Dumbledore, and he was a death eater. A death eater as headmaster of Hogwarts would mean disaster, and everything really would change for the worst. Voldemort had prejudice about muggle borns and half bloods, me and Hermione were prime targets for their hunt, especially since I was also considered a blood traitor since my mother married a muggle.
"Ronnie, you and I both know these two cant do anything without us" Hermione said with a smile from beside me. I smiled over at her and laughed at the appalled looks the guys gave her. "I'll think about it" I finally said to them, and that was all they needed to hear from me for the rest of the day.
It wast long before all of us were packed and on our way home on the Hogwarts express, and I soaked in every moment of the entire ride, because I wasn't quite sure if this one was going to be my last. Hermione was of course reading a book, Harry was playing with a golden snitch that was floating around his head and Ron was sleeping against the window with drool running down his chin. Luna had joined us for the remained of the trip and was reading the newest edition of the Quibler on Hermione's other side.
The train sounded loudly as we entered the station, and we all stretched a little before grabbing our bags and heading out of the doors. Normally students were excited to go home and get out of school for the summer, this time was different as a lot of them were still suffering mentally from death eater attacks, and all of us were recovering from the death of our beloved headmaster. Students walked quietly and slowly to their family members that were waiting timidly on the platform for their children, all of the knowing that everything was about to change.
I saw a huddle of red hair up ahead and Ron and i made our way over to them, Harry and Hermione were heading with their own families. Molly and Arthur were standing with Ginny, Fred and George talking a little farther away from them and I couldn't help but smile seeing my best friends and beloved boyfriend. "Ronnie, thank you so much for healing my son dear" Molly said pulling me into a tight hug. I smiled hugging her back and mumbled a response quietly to her. I hugged Arthur quickly before they both grabbed Ron, so I moved to go with the twins.
"Hi babe" George said quietly as he pulled me into his side and kissed the top of my head. Fred winked over at me before looking back to his twin brother. I had seen the two of them only days before at the funeral so it wasn't like we were apart for very long. Everyone around me was tense, the air was filled with the dread of the unknown. My family was in danger, hell I was in danger...My friends were all being threatened and i was faced with this tough decision of what to do?
Do I stay and protect my family and friends, helping the innocent children who could not help themselves? Or do I leave and help the one person who could safe the wizarding world? The thought of having to make this decision was making me sick to my stomach....
