It took me so long to write this… my motivation to do anything at all has been terrible recently! I've got two weeks off now though, so hopefully I'll have some time to write!

Day Fifteen Prompt:
Our
In what ways do the otp share their lives?

Nothing much exciting happens in this one, it's just sort of a 'day in the life of Jack and Nikki as a couple' sort of thing :) Sorry if it's a bit boring… I'm just glad I've got this prompt over and done with! If you manage to get through this, all I can say is thank you lol xx

It was close to six o'clock when Nikki woke up, the sun poking through the gaps in the curtains. It happened often, Nikki opening her eyes a minute or two before the alarm went off, laying in silence and pondering her thoughts. Jack lay beside her, snoring away to himself, still deeply asleep. Each snore was strangely comforting. Maybe it was simply because she'd gotten used to the sound, it now being a part of her morning. But of course, when she would turn to look at the maker of the noise, she would be met with Jack’s beautiful face.

She took a glance at him, simply watching his breathing, watching how peaceful he was. Oh, how annoyed he was going to be when he had to wake up.

It was almost entertaining watching him moan about how it was too early, how he could do with even a minute more of sleep. And so, when the din began, blaring from the tiny little clock on her side table, she didn’t make a move to stop it. As soon as Jack’s eyes opened, a groan fell from his lips.

“Sometimes I want to throw that clock at the wall,” he grumbled.

Nikki grinned at him, let it ring for a little while longer, finding utter joy in winding him up. Eventually, she turned it off, rolling on her side into his open arm.

“And sometimes I want to smother you with a pillow because you snore so much.”

Obviously, she was joking, but the shock on Jack's face made Nikki laugh. He opened his mouth to counteract her statement, but she stopped him from replying, catching her lips with his.

“I don’t snore,” Jack said as soon as she broke away from him. He looked utterly horrified that she'd suggested such a thing, Nikki chuckled as she sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. When she got to her feet, she left Jack, heading into the bathroom to get in the shower.

Once in, she let the warm water trickle over her, properly waking her up, wondering how her day would play out. Probably a body or two to look at, a couple of post mortems. Maybe they'd go out with Adam later. She wasn't too sure.

Nikki was glad that now she was with Jack, there was a routine to her life. Not only that, she always has something to look forward to, whether it be visiting a friend or just spending time with her boyfriend. Finally, she felt like her days were playing out just as she'd always imagined. And it was perfect.

She wasn't in the shower long. It hadn't long been ten minutes when she got out, wrapping one towel around her body and using another to dry her hair, before exiting the bathroom.

Jack was still in bed when she came back into the bedroom, looking far too comfortable, both hands resting behind his head. He gave Nikki a sleepy smile, his eyes on her as she began to look through her wardrobe.

“Oi,” Nikki said suddenly, a finger pointing in his direction, “get in that bloody shower.”

With a roll of his eyes, Jack threw the covers back, grumbling and groaning as he got out of bed. As he walked past her, he briefly wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. She watched him amble out of the room, letting out a yawn on his way.
