Long time ago, all evil in the world was purged by one wandering warrior. No one knows his real identity, nor his whereabouts. But one thing is for sure, he solely defeated all the evil forces invading the East and West continents.
The story has bee...
I got pushed back but that doesn't mean I am giving him the advantage. I quickly lowered my stance and used all the energy I have to push his sword away before swiftly swinging mine towards his chest.
Game over.
"You did well, my lady." The knight in front of me bowed deeply.
I was a bit out of breath. I can feel my sweat trickling down my face. Finally, I was able to defeat Yohan, my duel partner. I placed my sword back to its scabbard. Before bowing my head.
"Thank you Yohan. You also did well."
I knew my skills have improved. Yohan never goes easy on me. We are all required to give it our all during trainings. That's because we are in the Dukedom of Eirlys, known for its swordsmanship skills not just throughout the Kingdom of Falzern but to the whole of West Continent as well. Every training and duel is done with seriousness and dignity, no matter the status, gender or age may be. But that doesn't mean, one can hurt the other intentionally. Accidents usually occur if mana usage was allowed that's why, it is discouraged during 'training duels' like this. On the sidenote though, if mana was used, I wouldn't have stood a chance.
"My lady.. it's time for your breakfast." My personal maid, Ruth, came running towards us. Yohan and I were in the outdoors training field.
I glanced at Yohan, who was shaking his head.
"I can't believe you were able to defeat me without eating anythiiiinngg.. Ouch..." Yohan crouched in pain.
"I told you not to call the lady this early for duels." Ruth had hit him on his stomach. Turning to me, "My lady, please, can you just eat breakfast and have a bit of rest before meeting up with this stinky guy?"
I laughed out loud. Yohan and Ruth had just gotten married. But here they are bickering infront of me. I don't usually laugh this easily but I just enjoy seeing them like this sometimes.
"Anyways, let's get going Ruth. I am a bit hungry now."

Arzen Del Vaughn
That is my name. I am a daughter of one of the five dukes of the Kingdom of Falzern, the Duke of Eirlys. I am still 16 years old yet I have been training with the sword since I was 5 along with my older brother Roux, who is 2 years older than me.

I have soft black hair, a characteristic of the Del Vaughn family. My eyes are dual colored. As what I have been told they're reddish-black, unique from our lineage with charcoal black eyes. But I didn't mind it at all since the black hues of my eyes pop out more than the red and most of them say I look like my mom.
Anyways, today is just a typical day filled with activities such as studying, dance classes, and etiquette lessons. I also need to learn the basics of the admin work my father does. As the daughter of the Duke, it is expected of me to be able to help in state affairs as well. Since my day is filled to the brim, I often have my sword training early in the mornings. And as a reward for all of these, I am given a few hours of 'me' time before dinner.
I really don't like studying but I genuinely love to read books especially on history, myths, and tales. Right now, I am reading the "History of the Unification of the West." Such a boring book, as most would say but it piques my interest. Afterall, I am running out of books to read already. I was so engrossed with the book that I didn't notice the time.
Knock knock
"My lady, may we come in."
"Yes, you may."
Ruth came in with 2 other maids. "We're sorry to disturb your reading but it's time for dinner."
I looked out the window. The sun is setting beautifully. Another productive day has ended. I glanced at the page number of the book before gently closing it.
I saw Ruth and the maids getting my evening dinner dress. I quickly went near them to get changed.
"By the way, my lady, the Duke will join you for dinner tonight."
"I see. That's good then." I smiled softly. It's been a long time since my father ate with me. The maids had finished putting my dress on. I looked at my reflection before going out the door.
