"Hey Luci, can I borrow twenty bucks?" Samantha asks, grabbing an apple off of their kitchen counter. Lucifer looks up from his spot on the stool, looking at her as if she grew another head.

"Why do you need twenty buck?" He replies, knowing fully well what she needs it for. He just needs to hear her say it.

"I've got a date," she shrugs, hopping onto the counter beside him.

"With who?" He scoffs, playing it off as if he couldn't believe anyone was interested in her that way.

"That Gabriel kid, right?" Abbadon chimes in, walking into the kitchen. Lucifer and Samantha roll their eyes in sync, glancing at each other momentarily.

"Yeah, 'that Gabriel kid'," Samantha snaps, already fed up with Abbadon after only a few minutes.

"Oh this ones feisty, better keep her chained up," Abbadon smirks, locking eyes with Lucifer who stiffens from her comment.

"Sorry Abbadon, I'm not into the whole dog kink, but I'm sure there's someone out there that wants to fuck a bitch," Samantha smiles sarcastically, Abbadon glaring at her before retreating from the kitchen.

"So Gabriel, huh?" Lucifer asks after a short period of silence.

"Yeah, I really like this guy Luci," Samantha replies, lying to not only Lucifer, but herself as well. Maybe if she says it enough, she will believe it. Then she can get over Lucifer.

Lucifer simply nods, giving her a fake smile before pulling out his wallet and giving her a twenty. "Have fun."

"I had a great time Sam," Gabriel says, leaning across the center console slightly.

"Me too," she says although she's completely uncomfortable.

Having him this close to her reminds her of her father, and what he did. He smiles, slowly starting to lean in. She quickly turns her head so that his lips connect with her cheek instead. He pulls away, sighing in what seems like defeat.

"Goodnight Gabriel."

"Goodnight."

Lucifer sits on the living room couch, glancing at the clock every two seconds watching it pass by slowly. She said she would be home around eleven. It's eleven o' three. She's late. He tears his eyes from the clock as he hears the front door open.

"Where have you been? I was worried sick! You're late Samantha," Lucifer asks frantically, holding her shoulders lightly. She pushes off his hands gently, rolling her eyes in dismissal.

"I'm three minutes late, not three hours." She scoffs, looking up at him. Her eyes lock with his, and to say she was mesmerized would be an understatement.

"Still. You should've called." He sighs, casting his gaze to his feet.

"Technically, I was home at eleven, I just didn't come in until now." She explains, causing his head to snap up.

"What were you doing in his car for three minutes?" He snaps, his words laced with jealousy. Samantha smirks, catching on to what's happening.

"Are you jealous?" She asks, causing his words to abruptly stop as his cheeks flush a deep red.

"N-no, what - why would I be jealous?" He stutters out, attempting to look nonchalant.

"I don't know, but it sure seems like you are," she shrugs, watching as he sighs in relief.

"I'm just worried about you Sammy, I don't trust this guy." He admits. Jealousy aside, he doesn't have a good feeling about Gabriel. There's just something in the way he looks at Samantha that makes him feel like Gabriel is going to try something terrible.

"It's okay Luci, I'll be okay." She assures, placing a hand on his. He looks down, smiling at the contact. "So, can you drive me to see Dean tomorrow? Cas was going to go but he has to go to some chess tournament."

"Of course," Lucifer smiles,"anything for my little sis."

And maybe he caught the slight grimace she made at the word 'sis.' And maybe he felt hope in the fact that she might just like him too. But he would never let on that he saw, or let on about his suspicions. She would say he's lying. That he's looking into things too much. That he's infatuated with the idea of her. It was too risky. So he will say nothing.
