Vampire bite Explained

The Initial Bite
†A vampire is a complicated creature. Their saliva keeps the wound open, which is good for shallow piercing, of the skin. Vampires have short and thick fangs like a big cat, not thin and curved long, like a viper. There is no control for gauging biting damage. There are several spots better suited than the arteries and veins. The victim would simply bleed out quickly of arterial spray and veins do also work under a form of pressure.
Then the teeth no longer serve a purpose. Some retract them. Others enjoy the sensation of dragging the sharp tips and inflicting cuts for more pain to the victim. "Dragging fang" is used with a human lover to be more sexual than straight up feeding. The long tongue comes into play so to suck and lick, to draw more blood to the surface.
Creating a vampire
†To create a vampire, the bite must be deep into the muscle. The saliva contains a type of neurotoxin that is a special form of necrosis, the best way to describe it. Large amounts are produced prior to a deep bite. The toxin pools in the muscle to spread deep through the body.
Healing Facture
†As for the healing lick, they are like snakes in that they have sacs that secrete a healing agent when done feeding. It neutralizes the anticoagulant and the toxin then heals the superficial wound. Hence the reason,it can not stop a deep bite.
Though should a vampire choose to, it can secret only enough healing agents to stop the bleeding. Many vampires prefer some form of scarification and uses this method that a scar is left to remind humns of their encounter and brush with death.
Sexual Component
†Often sexual components occur with a vampire feeding. The primitive ritual of "claiming" a mate whether temporarily or permanent, usually results in biting. Sexual arousal and pain sensors work to increase pain tolerance, going well beyond what person normally could endure, during the mating. There for the Vampire is not using a power but deep primal behaviors that our early ancestors knew of.
