The short flight back to SPARK headquarters was uneventful. Alucard coaxed some much needed water and food in Angel. The rest of the trip was her cat napping on him. The First Nosferatu was impressed with Angelica's continual ability in learning to control the fae fire and get creative but it was for not, if she was consumed up, by giving her flesh in weight. Alucard decided he needed to assist in this endeavor and realized he could probably work it in reverse, on Angel, through the Hellsing sigils.

Upon arriving at the SPARK residence, Angel headed straight to her room, for more sleep. Alucard, having been up so much in the day, was cranky to say the least. He had planned to have the young woman come and spend the rest of the day slumbering with him. Only three hours into his sleep, a commotion was going on upstairs. The Vampire King sighed then rose through the floor to see a tall, wide and buff man with brown hair trying to shake hands with Angel.

She was having none of that.

"You know Angel," the buff man said. "You were so gullible, not so long ago. I nearly put you through the wall, the first time we shook hands."

"Bubba, leave my Master alone..." was all Alucard said then a roll of his powerful aura.

It filled the room rapidly then seeped into all the rest of the house. Screams and yells could be heard from how many people, Vampire King's roll of power, were affected. For Bubba, it mad him 'hot' around collar. Alucard's aura was taken as a challenge, to Angel's boss. He couldn't see how the young woman could stand working with a vampire.

Even if it was on a leash...

"Damn Black! You have the beast wrapped around your little finger!" her boss laughed loudly.

Alucard sighed from annoyance. Angel scowled at her superior. Alucard had proven his worth and support, on numerous situations. Angelica refused to allow Bubba to be disrespectful. Alucard didn't think he could be surprised anymore. He was wrong. His jaw dropped on what happened next.

"Bubba you are my boss but Alucard is my partner, so I must protest your disrespectful joke. He has done beastly things but that doesn't make him one..." Angelica backed up, then moved to stand by Alucard.

"I see," the boss shook his head. "You of all people defending a vampire. I shouldn't have sent you to Hellsing. I was so sure their lap dog couldn't sway you."

"Then why did you approve of Alucard coming here?" Angel raised her voice.

"Ah, there's the rub. I didn't," his eyes squinted. "I was informed you were on a plane, heading back but nothing about him. And now I see you two and the marks on your hands, bound are we? What else has he 'marked' his?"

"Yes I am bound but far from permanent. Sir Hellsing has final say and can pull Alucard out. I am engaged to the Fae King of the Unseelie too..."she growled.

"Oh that's funny as hell!" her boss chuckled. "Why did you not talk to the king about being wed? huh...well the vampire I'm betting. With that bit of news, you're my rōnin team. You will be sent on all the really strong and clouded myths."

"Like Mothman?" Angel hissed.

"Oh I knew you would be on board with this..."Bubba's smile was creepy.

"Boss you spent too much time, in that demon infested, dimensional plane of existence," Angel continued to scowl.

"And on that note, I have a job in which a demon is probably the culprit," her boss informed her. "It's suspected the demon is a Lying Spirit type- Pytho."

"A Pytho? Guess I have some research to do," Angel nodded her head.

"Head north to the border and a cabin is waiting for you," Bubba smirked. "Find out why this demon is inhabiting the small town."

"On it..."

Bubba at half volume, yelled, "Yes Alucard, keep it in your pants until the mission is completed. Don't be distracting my best living employee!"

Angelica didn't even acknowledge her superior's crude 'order' to the Vampire King. Alucard turned, in a fluid motion and walked beside his American Master. Angelica made a stop at her room and another to get blood for Alucard. "Are you going to be okay without your coffin?"

"Definitely not to my liking but entering a possible demon controlled town, with my coffin, isn't going to be helpful or safe for you...little one," he chuckled softly.

It was late afternoon when Alucard and Angelica reached the town of Bright Waters. The couple had been silent the whole trip. It wasn't particularly awkward but still Angel had never heard how silent the No Life King really could be. She sighed softly as they turned on to the road to the cabin.

Why did they both run so hot and cold?

Maybe 'they' weren't meant to be...

Angel unloaded the car and Alucard searched the area for possible, hidden threats. When he didn't come back right away, she became worried but not about enemies. So Angelica pulled out a black string bikini then grabbed a large towel and walked down to the small lake. There was a small dock, with a canoe, tied to it. Her eyes scanned for Alucard but still no sign of the Eldritch Vampire.

"Fine asshole..." she mumbled.

Angel went back quickly and grabbed a hiker's pack. She threw it in the canoe, untied it and began paddling. The SPARK employee didn't know where she was going but it wasn't much of a concern to her. Angel had learned navigation by sun and stars. There was a compass on her belt, with her clothes in the backpack. If she got lost, it wouldn't take anytime at all, to find her way back on course.

Alucard returned to find the cabin empty. The area held no surprises but he needed to clear his head on some things. Angel's boss had struck a nerve with the oldest vampire. Bubba had thought she would have done better to marry a Fae king than a companion for the Vampire King.

Perhaps Bubba was right?

The No Life King did love Angelica, but Alucard didn't think he could love Angel, to the point of an equal.

His mind cleared quickly when Angelica's scent was faint in the cabin and none nearby. Where the hell had she gone now?

Alucard pushed his mind to see what Angel was doing. He realized she was in a 'small' boat and out on the lake. The whole area looked the same, to a certain extent. He couldn't find her by landmarks, at this point. The deep lake also offered problems for him.

A low, deep growl ushered from Vampire King's mouth, that rose in volume, that you swore it was vibrating the air. It was at a frequency most couldn't hear but two definitely heard. Angelica stopped paddling and began searching for the source of the low bass roar.

It gave her goosebumps...

Meanwhile, in Bright Waters a rather slender but handsome, dark haired man paused to the sound. Then just smiled before taking another swallow of wine. His slender fingers tapped on the glass. The stranger's dark grey eyes scanned the horizon. He didn't see anything but something was about. A vampire and his pet...female pet have arrived in the area.

How fascinating...

"Some elder vampire lost his female pet," the man chuckled. "I therefore need to find this little darling and take her for myself. To escape such a powerful vampire begs the question about you, my dear..."
