TRIXIE'S POV:
I held Hendrix's hand as we walked down the street and entered Daisy's school playground. I looked around at all the couples. Married couples, patiently waiting for their child to come out the double doors.
"Don't worry" said Hendrix, letting go of my hand and wrapping an arm around my lower waist.
"Hm?" I felt him pull me closer as he used his head to nod in the direction of all the couples. I narrowed my eyes at him as a smile spread across his face.
"That'll be us one day" he said. I felt a smile growing on my own face as I kissed his cheek softly.
I looked back towards the building as the doors burst open. Daisy ran out, her brown hair tied neatly in two plaits with green ribbons at the bottom. She was wearing her pink shirt with a pair of yellow shorts as she looked around excitedly.
"Trixie!" she squealed, running over to me. I laughed and picked her up as she wrapped her arms around me. I watched Hendrix roll his eyes as we started walking back to his car.
"Am I invisible?" he said. Daisy stuck her tongue out at him as I placed her in the booster seat. He pulled a face back at her, both of them making me laugh.
"Trixie's more important than you" she said.
"This is why I like you better than Hendrix" I said, winking at her as she started giggling. I closed the car door with a smile and Hendrix's eyes lingered on me. He tucked his hands into his pockets and leaned forward a little.
"I love you" he said, his lips kissing mine softly. I kissed him back, quickly breaking the kiss with a smile. I turned away and got into the passenger side.

"Can we watch a movie in your bed tonight?" asked Daisy. I held her hand as she jumped out the car.
"Of course we can, popcorn or candy?" I asked. She looked up at me as I placed a key in the front door. We both smiled at each other and nodded our heads.
"Both" we said at the same time. She giggled as she ran into my house. I watched her run upstairs as Hendrix closed the front door, taking off his jacket as I handed him mine.
"She has homework" said Hendrix. I rolled my eyes, walking upstairs.
"It's not due for a week, she literally has to collect leaves for a project" I said. Hendrix laughed softly, following me upstairs and shaking his head.
"Where's Mom?" asked Hendrix. I felt a flutter go off in my stomach when he referred to my Mom as his own. We'd been dating for a while so I should've seen it coming yet everytime he said it, it felt like the first time.
"She's out" I said.
"With Mattia?"
We were still working on that part. I nodded as we walked into my room. Daisy was sitting on the floor, her back against my bed. She was playing a game on her iPad but looked up when she saw us.
"Can I go get the snacks?" she asked, standing up.
"Sure, D" I said. She held her iPad under her arm and left my room, closing the door behind her.
"Finally" said Hendrix. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail but he placed both hands on my waist, pushing me up against the door. He smirked at me as I let go of my hair, letting it drop past my shoulders. I placed both arms around his neck instead, locking eyes with him.
"Can I help you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him. He gently tucked a strand of hair away from my face, his eyes occasionally flickering down to my lips.
"Just kiss me already, Hendrix"
He leaned in, his lips meeting mine as he pulled me closer to him. I smiled against his lips, my hands resting on the back of his neck as I found myself wanting more.
The urge to pull his shirt off disappeared as we heard the front door slam downstairs. He pulled away quickly, looking at me as we thought the same thing.
They're back.
I grabbed his hand and we walked out the bedroom, looking downstairs from the landing.
"You're not even giving me a chance!"
"Why the fuck would I do that!?" screamed Mom, kicking off her heels. She walked into the lounge, slamming the door in Dad's face. He took a breath before walking in after her.
"Go get Daisy and wait in your car" I said. Hendrix didn't question me, he'd learned that was his best option lately.
He grabbed his keys, walking downstairs and getting a few unpleasant stares from the soldiers around him. They still hadn't adjusted to him living here. Not so much Daisy, she was young and harmless. But him? He'd always be the enemy in their eyes.
I watched Hendrix hold Daisy in his arms as they walked to the front door. Once I heard his car doors close, I made my way into the living room.
"What happened-"
But I was cut off with Mom's palm connecting to Dad's cheek. There was a silence as he cupped his cheek with his hand, looking at Mom. I couldn't see anything but hate and remorse in his eyes.
"Someone fill me in" I said, watching Mom shake her head at him. He walked out the room, his hand still on his cheek. I looked back at Mom as she walked over to the couch, her head in her hands as she started crying. I didn't even know whose side I was supposed to take.
"He accused me of cheating on him"
"What?" I looked at Mom, furrowing my brows as she nodded her head. She dabbed her tears away with a tissue.
"We argued again, about him cheating" she said "and then he turned the tables and accused me of having an affair. According to him, that's why I can't get over him cheating"
"I'm sorry, Mom" I said, sitting next to her "now what? Where do we even go from here? I mean I know you're already divorced but now what?"
She took a shaky breath, sitting up properly and taking my hand into both of hers. Her fingers grazed my knuckles and she looked down at a promise ring Hendrix had given me a while ago. A small, sad smile played on her lips as she looked back at me with tears in her eyes and shrugged her shoulders.
"I find someone new"
