TRIXIE'S POV:

"Are you insane?" I yelled down the phone "even if you were the last person left on this planet, I still wouldn't let you go with me"

"Oh c'mon-"

I cut the call before he could say anything else and rang Hendrix. But he declined my call straight away. I sighed and called an Uber as the bell went. I watched Chase picked up his bag and walk back into school, thankfully leaving me in peace.

HENDRIX'S POV:

I threw my phone in the passenger seat after declining her call. I didn't wanna speak cause I knew I'd end up saying something I'd regret.

I pulled up to the house and became confused when I saw Daisy sitting outside on the porch.

"Daisy?" I got out the car as she looked up at me, giving me a toothy smile as she balanced the iPad on her knees.

"Why are you out here?" I asked, picking her up in my arms and getting the front door key out. She wrapped her arms around my neck, becoming very uneasy when I stepped into the house.

"What's wrong, D?" I asked, softly. She pointed towards the kitchen, inching closer to me.

"They're back" she whispered. I held her hand as I peered behind me to look outside. I don't know how I'd missed the two extra cars in the driveway. I looked upstairs to see soldiers walking around before turning my attention back to Daisy.

"Did they say anything to you?"

"Carlos told me to stay outside cause I'm not allowed in the house"

I clenched my jaw as I picked her up again, walking out the house with her. I placed her in my passenger seat, putting the seatbelt over her.

"Wait here, I'll be quick" I said, she nodded her head, turning on her iPad.

I walked back to the house, closing the front door behind me as I walked towards the kitchen. But a soldier stood in my way, holding his gun in front.

"You're not allowed in" he said.

"Excuse me? I'm the fucking heir to the throne, get the fuck outta my way"

I pushed him forcefully to a side, watching him fall into the wall. I walked into the kitchen, seeing them all sitting around the table. Carlos started clapping slowly, giving me an ugly grin.

"Look who turned up" he said. Mom rolled her eyes and Dad ignored me.

"Says the guy who fled the country cause he got scared of NJ13" I shot back, watching his smile vanish. Dad cleared his throat, looking at me.

"The mafia ball is coming up" he said "you need to go with someone, preferably from Nikolai 19"

"I'm not going" I said bluntly. I took a pack of cigarettes out my pocket and placed one between my lips, sitting at the table.

"Stop smoking in my house" said Mom. I dismissed what she'd said and placed one hand over it as I used my lighter.

"If it was your house you wouldn't have left" I said, blowing smoke in their faces. Dad coughed and fanned the air and Carlos stood up to go open a door.

"Look what that Polibio girl did to you" she said.

"She's called Trixie" I said, taking a drag as Dad shook his head. The disappointed card meant nothing to me since they'd disappointed me first.

"This is why I'm the favourite son" said Carlos, leaning the wall as he shrugged his shoulders. I laughed at him, watching everyone around me look at me with confusion which made it even funnier.

"That's so bold of you" I laughed, wiping my eyes. Carlos pulled a face as the smile on mine vanished as I sat up straight.

"You're assuming that I give a fuck" I said, sitting forward and glaring at my parents.

"I don't even see you as my fucking family anymore, I'm only here for my mafia that I'll get when you both drop dead"

I watched their faces drop as I smiled to myself, placing my cigarette between my lips again.

"You were talking about the mafia ball?" I asked causally, watching a shiver go down Mom's spine. Dad nodded quickly, calling a solider over with a small iPad in his hands.

"These are the women who are involved with our mafia, or at least want to destroy NJ13" he said. I looked at them, swiping the page.

"What the fuck am I meant to do with that?" I asked.

"Pick one for the ball" said Dad. I laughed again, they were going crazy. I flicked through them all and slid the iPad across the table to my parents.

"Well?" asked Mom, turning it off and raising her eyebrows at me.

"They're fucking ugly" I said, letting out a laugh as I felt the smoke getting to my head.

"You shouldn't talk about girls like that" said Dad quietly. I looked over at him, taking a longer drag from my cigarette before blowing smoke in his direction.

"If it ain't my girl, it ain't a girl"

I stood up and walked out the room before any of them could say anything else. I didn't want a date. I didn't even wanna go but I knew I didn't have a choice. I got into my car as Daisy looked at me.

"Are you taking Trixie?"

"What?" I asked, looking over at her as I started the engine and pulled out the driveway.

"The ball!" she exclaimed "are you gonna take Trixie, cause she can be like Cinderella and you can be Prince Charming and it's all gonna be so pretty!"

I laughed softly as she clasped her hands together, reaching over and messing her hair up. She slapped my hand away and went back to her iPad.

All I could think about was breaking the bones of whichever guy was taking Trixie.

"I don't think it's that kinda event, D" I said "it's more like business but it doesn't matter cause you'll be at a sleepover at Josie's house"

"Okay me and Ally can watch shows together" she said, putting her airpods in to block me out. I chuckled as we hit the highway. I had 24 hours to sort myself a tuxedo and a ride to the ball.

I was going to make her regret ever looking in another guy's direction.
