Chapter 5: Goku vs Vegeta

Goku turned to Vegeta, feeling his rage burning up inside of him. Clenching his fist, Goku fought for control of his emotions. Vegeta laughed; amusement in his eyes. Goku glared at Piccolo and Gohan out of the corner of his eye and signaled for them to get out of there. Piccolo nodded and he and Gohan left, bringing Krillin with them. Goku sighed and controlled his energy, fighting to not allow the rage to control his power.

"Vegeta, let's move our fight somewhere else. Somewhere that only you and I will be," Goku suggested. "I'll find us a good wasteland to fight in."

"Hmph, all right, lead the way," Vegeta replied, with an annoyed glance in the direction of the news reporters. They were clearly talking about Goku. "I need to have some fun first."

Vegeta fired a thin beam of energy at the news reporters. Rage welling up inside him, Goku just barely managed to save them in time. He heard them let out a collective sigh of relief and turned to glare at Vegeta.

"A - Are you Goku, sir?" one of the reporters asked nervously, his voice shaking, clearly afraid.

"Yes I am, now get out of here, it's too dangerous," Goku ordered briskly, his voice full of fury. The news reporters didn't need to be told twice. Without another word, they drove away, leaving their cameras and other equipment. Once Goku was sure they were safe he nodded. "Let's go."

Vegeta nodded as well, and the two of them flew off. Goku made sure to stay a good distance ahead so that he could make sure Vegeta didn't try anything funny. Goku looked down at the landscapes and saw a nice rock formation to land on. It was a good thirty miles away from the previous battle, that way everybody else would be safe from the battle. Yes, that one is perfect, Goku thought, with a small smirk on his face.

"We'll go to this one. Everybody should be safe if we fight here," Goku said.

Vegeta nodded and flew down to one of the rock formations. Goku landed on the one he had spotted earlier. It was lower than Vegeta's, but Goku didn't care. Vegeta obviously did, he had a smug grin on his face as he looked down at Goku. Goku glared up at Vegeta and prepared for the upcoming battle. Vegeta watched him with pure contempt as Goku stretched. When Goku was done, he immediately got into a fighting stance.

"Are you finally ready to fight, Kakarot?" Vegeta asked, obvious disgust clear in his eyes.

"Yes," Goku replied, and before Vegeta could reply back, Goku felt power burning through his muscles. "KAIOKEN TIMES FOUR!"

Before Vegeta could say anything else, Goku punched him dead in the face, sending him flying. Goku smirked as Vegeta was barely able to catch himself from hitting a large rock formation. Before Vegeta could respond, Goku fired multiple powerful Ki blasts in the prince's direction. Vegeta cried out, and crashed to the ground. When he got up, pure rage burned in his eyes as he charged at Goku, punching him square in the jaw.

Goku felt a surprising rush of pain and closed his eyes as was thrown towards another rock formation. Goku felt his back blast through mountain, after mountain, then finally, Goku crashed to the ground, a large spray of sand flying up with the impact. Goku tried to get up, but Vegeta came from out of nowhere, and hit Goku in the gut with a sharp blast from his elbow; causing Goku to gasp each time the breath was knocked out of him. Goku made a desperate move, and tripped Vegeta, then took advantage and powered up, feeling the familiar power rushing through him once again.

"KA - ME - HA - ME - HA!" Goku shouted, and the beam of blue energy hit, then sent Vegeta flying. The prince cried out in pain as he was carried on the wind by the energy blast, but Goku knew that wasn't going to be the end of his opponent. "KAIOKEN TIMES TEN!"

Goku burst forward and punched Vegeta in the gut, who promptly coughed, and spit came bubbling from his mouth; causing Goku to smirk. Vegeta recovered surprisingly quickly, and shot a Ki blast directly into Goku's face. Goku grunted in pain, and shook his head to clear away the lingering shock from the blast. Vegeta smirked, and fired multiple Ki blasts in Goku's direction. Goku easily deflected them, and flew at Vegeta with full force, sending Vegeta flying.

Goku knew that Vegeta would come back angrier than he already was. Sure enough, Vegeta came back, a pissed look on his face. Before Goku could protect himself, Vegeta punched him in the abdomen; causing Goku to cough up blood. Thinking fast, Goku fired a small Ki blast directly at Vegeta's face. Vegeta cried out and stumbled away, covering his face. Goku flew away and recuperated for a little bit while Vegeta was stunned.

"Goku, Goku!" a familiar voice shouted in his head.

"King Kai?!" Goku whispered in shock, his eyes wide.

"Oh, Goku, thank Kami! Are you okay?!" King Kai asked.

"Yes, I'm resting right now while Vegeta's temporarily stunned," Goku replied. Vegeta rose from being stunned, with rage in his eyes just as Goku finished his sentence. "Shit! He's back up!"

"Where are you, you miserable excuse for a Saiyan?!" Vegeta bellowed, his tail lashing and cracking like a whip on the dry air, bristling with anger. Goku stayed in place, worried about the amount of time he had had to rest from the beat down Vegeta had given to him. Goku exhaled as he felt some of his energy come back. This should be just enough for a quick Kaioken, before Vegeta can throw any more energy blasts. Goku thought, gulping.

"There you are, Kakarot, what were you, scared?"

"No, I was recuperating," Goku replied. "Let's end things, now."

"Agreed," Vegeta said, then rose into the sky, a sly smirk on his face. "PREPARE YOURSELF, KAKAROT! I PUT ALL MY POWER INTO THIS ATTACK! YOU SHALL PERISH NOW, ALONG WITH YOUR USELESS WORLD!"

Goku watched, and grimaced as an ominous purple light emanated from Vegeta's splayed hands. "KAIOKEN TIMES TWELVE!"

Vegeta cried out as Goku sent him flying many miles away. Goku laid down, panting harshly. He knew Vegeta would be coming back, but he was happy that he at least had a minute to recuperate from the battle. When Vegeta didn't show up for what felt like an hour, Goku started to doubt that the Saiyan was dead. Suddenly, Goku felt a huge burst of power, and turned in the direction. He gasped in shock as he saw an incredibly enraged Vegeta.

"What happened to your moon? Where is your moon?!" Vegeta said, anger burning deep in his eyes, his tail, bristling.
