My mom and I started walking to the house. The front door opened and there stood my dad. "Here we are," my mom said. "You know when I'll be back," she told my dad and I. Then she leaned over and gave me a hug and then she turned around and started walking back to her car. The thing about my parents is that they're good friends, but they just can't live with each other. That's why they got a divorce. I turned around and walked into the house wondering where to go, since I've never been to my dad's house in South Carolina before. Dad took some of my bags and said, "Your bedroom is upstairs." We walked up the stairs and into my bedroom and suddenly I heard loud squeal.
"What was that?" I asked, terrified.
"Oh that's my ferret Ronnie. He's really nice," my dad said, casual as could be.
"Please keep him away from me, Dad," I said with a nervous look on my face.
"Don't worry about Ronnie. I'll leave you to get settled," dad said and walked out of the room. I was tired and annoyed, so I just went to bed at 6:30.

I woke up with a headache. I checked my alarm clock and it read 7:42 AM. Oh no! I thought. I totally forgot that I had to go to school!
