"Here, Sophia, get on this stool and hoist yourself on the horse from the left side," Dad said to me. I stepped onto the stool and attempted to get onto the horse, but I couldn't get on. While I attempted to get onto Nellie, I accidentally kicked her. She neighed unhappily when she felt my kick.
"I'm sorry, Nellie," I told her as Dad helped me onto Nellie. I sat on top of Nellie awkwardly.
"I'll help guide Nellie, okay? Don't worry about her, she's a nice horse and won't hurt you," Dad said.
"Okay..." I said nervously. Dad took the rope and started slowly leading Nellie around the pasture. I felt almost... Free on top of Nellie. It was so peaceful and calm, and it was soothing to feel the rhythm of her walk.
"Sophia...? Can you hear me? I asked you a question," Dad said as he waved his hand in front of my face.
"What?" I said, dazed.
"I asked you if you liked riding Nellie," Dad said.
"Yeah, she's really cool," I replied.
"Okay, good. We've been riding her for about an hour now, so let's get Nellie back in her stable and lets go home," Dad said. I hopped off Nellie and we put her back in the stable, then we walked toward the car, got in, and drove home. Maybe I could start my own horse farm in a couple of years, I thought. We got home, and I went up to my room and started to read my book. What a coincidence, it's about horses, I thought. I read for a while and next thing I knew, I heard an annoying meep! meep! meep! My alarm! Darn it, it's Monday! "Nobody likes Monday's, so why does it even exist?" I grumbled to myself. I pulled on my clothes and got a whiff of something nasty. "Oh, right, that's me," I told myself. There was no time for a shower, so I had to rush off to school smelling like horse poop.
"Woah, Sophia, no offense, but you stink..." Dad said, waving his hand in front if his nose.
"Haha, Dad. I didn't have time to take a shower, so can you just drive me to school?" I said.
"Sure, just lemme find my keys.." Dad said.~
Five minutes later, we arrived at Hoover High. "Don't forget to ride the bus home!" Dad reminded me.
