Chapter 24

Luke POV

During Hayley surgery Micheal and Calum where cleaning up her back wound and which the infection had reached the tissue so Ashton also had to help. as I was checking her bruises and cuts to see Any that are not stitched are not infected as jack check her vitals and to see she would wake up anytime soon. As I got to her legs that were covered from the blanket.

"I'm going to check hayley legs is that alright people" I heard an multiple yes as I was checking the wounds all look heathy as I pull the blanket back up and go stand to make sure we got everything for the NG tube ready.
"Guys Hayley heart rate just spiked for some reason"he says as I look over.
"Is the sedation wearing off" Micheal ask as I see him shake his head and her heart rate begin to increase.
"It look like she might be having a nightmare" he says as I see Calum stitching her back up.
as I see her heart rate started to rise more as Calum finished the stitches and put the dressing on hayley eyes open and her breathing heavy as she sits up as Calum put the blanket over her whole body and rubs her back.

"I-I "Hayley blinking away the tears in her blood shot eyes.
"Hayley breath your safe okay. But unfortunately we still need to put the NG tube in and you can decide weather you want to do it with a relaxer so you will feel it but not much or to put you back under"Micheal say
"No I wanna stay awake"as I see her shiver and I grab a spare blanket and rap it around her body
"Thank you. Do we have to do it in here still If i do it awake"
"Yeah but it going to be okay who do you want to comfort you"jack ask while checking her vitals and Jack put a relaxer in to her iv
"You and Calum but I don't mind which of you put it in" as I see Calum jump on the table and pull Hayley into his body.

"Okay Hayley jack just put the relaxer in so we will just wait a couple of minutes okay"I say
"Yeah you want to know what I got the cut on my back from"as we go around her so we're in front of her
"Hayley you don't have to tell us we"Ashton sentence was interrupted by Hayley
"No it alright you were going to find it out at some point. Um he dragged a knife down my back. Because I stole some food that was the flashback I had earlier."I felt angry at what they did to her and I think everyone else was as well.
"Hay that was why you frozen earlier and when did it happen"Jack ask trying to keep Calm as she looks up at him.
"Yeah. it happened a month ago" she says which shocks me how she could of not felt the pain

"How do you keep it clean Hayley" Micheal asks
"Well I got the supplies from different shops and pharmacies some time. I picked pocket people for some money and bought bandages and painkillers but if I couldn't do that I stole it. But with them beating me up it didn't heal properly and got infected I guess and with the amount of hours I was out unconscious after the beating." She says as if completely normal as I see Calum got tears in his eyes as he gently hugs her.

"Why didn't you come to the hospital we could of help you sooner"Calum says.
I hear a sigh came out of Hayley mouth
"Jack tried to convince me to go to the police or  hospital or tell anyone but I was scared the only person I could trust was jack but now I've got him and you and the guys" Hayley says as I see her yawning and relaxing in Calum body
"We understand Hayley it looks like it worked so we can put the NG tube back in"Micheal says as I see Hayley nod. Calum grip tighten a bit and rapes his legs around her waste and laying with Hayley body so she tilting to a 45• angle and jack going behind her. As me and Micheal where already in front of her and Ashton went to the monitors and passed us the NG tube.
"So it going to feel weird but just relax and try not to move is it okay if we start"I say as I see Hayley exhale and close her eyes
"Yeah could you just do it please" as jack stroking her hair.

As Micheal enters the small tube up her noise down to her oesophagus I hear her gag
"Your doing so well hay" jack spoke as he tried to comfort her as Micheal keep feeding the tube down till it reaches the stomach as soon as he does. I take the amount that is not in and put a bit of tape to the right side of her check. I'm surprised she didn't cry I think we all are.
"Um thanks I guess can I go now I'm tired"Hayley say which shocks us all.
"Yeah but just to let you know we will be in to check in on you later and we will come with you"Calum says as he kisses her and hugs her
"Oh but just let us scrub out okay and get you a new gown" as we see her nod and cuddle up to the blanket more as i page a nurse if she could bring us a gown as we all enter the scrub room and start taking off are surgical gear now we are in are scrubs and waiting for Hayley.
"Is it me or is any one else surprised that her eyes did not even water"I say as I see everyone nod apart from jack
"Yeah after what she been though I'm not surprised hayley had a lot worse. I just wish I could of helped her more. Maybe I could stop this from happening to her maybe" jack was interrupted by Calum pulling him into a hug.

"You did everything you could it's not your fault"Hayley voice came though the room and I see her walk in with a new gown pulling her pole with her using it as a support looking at jack with a smile and blood shot eyes
"None of this was your fault Jack. You help me I would probably be dead if you didn't help me I'm just glad I met you that day at the park when you lent me your skateboard even though we did not know each other. Now stop with this so we can have a group hug"Hayley says as we all get pulled into a hug and Hayley in the middle laughing.
"Is it weird that I've just had this thing put in by you guys and that I'm hugging my doctors" as we all laugh and break out of the hug then as we are about to exit then we hear her yawn it was the cutest thing as we all turn to look at her we all smiling seeing her pale face turn a light pink.

"What you doctors never heard a girl yawn before and you all smiling it creepy and " her sentence get interrupted by Micheal 
"That was the cutest thing I have ever heard" we all agreed with him. As we see her go into Calum arms
"Could you carry me or could I have a piggy back" as Calum laughs and picks her up.
As we got to her room we see she already asleep on Calum. He gently lays Hayley on her bed tucking her in says
"Love you little sis"as we close the door as jack says something
"We know hayley going to be exhausted for the rest of the day. But her birthday in 2days and she going to have to spend it here. I have work off that day and I know you guys do so maybe we could plane something" jack says and we all smile and go to Calum office and start planning as today been a quite today.
