Forevermore: Chapter 1

Chapter 1

As I rounded the corner of the gym in spandex and a t-shirt. My Softball bag continued to banging irratatingly against my leg with each step. To top it off Pandora wasn't loading. AGAIN. I really needed to find a new music app, but just as I was about to start messing with my phone I couldn't help but look up. It was just the reflex of trying to find out who was staring at you.

I look up to see a group of unusually tall guys in black sweat pants and matching jackets staring. I already knew most of the guys and the basketball bags confirmed it. They had a game today and I had to walk past them all in spandex.... Wonderful. I should've put my pants back on after practice, but I just couldn't find the energy after all the miles we did on the track. Still, I knew I should've walked the other way.

I groaned and hoped I could walk past them without any of their snarky comments . So I continued my route pretending I hadn't noticed them by looking at my text messages. You know the famous "I'm going to pretend to text someone else while walking" so you don't feel like a loner or have to pay attention to the idiots around you. However, I still felt their stares on my toned legs and butt. I couldn't help feeling irritated by these neanderthals staring at me like I was a piece of meat. Who the hell did they think they were?!

A couple feet past the guys I started to doubt they were going to say anything and was just about to sigh in relief until I heard an annoying voice.  The same voice that repeated the same thing everyday.

"Aye Daniel there's your girl! Zoë come on say hi." I stopped walking and turned toward the person the voice belonged to, Eric. A really tall lanky guy that looked like if I hit him with my cleat he might break. Despite my doubts about his athletic ability the sports bag on his sholder proved he was indeed on the team, and good enough to be on varsity.

As I was contemplating this the whole group approached me now. I searched for a familiar face to find Adam standing next to me. We had Science together, so he was pretty nice to me at least. This was only because I occasionally took pity on him and helped him in class.

Eric's smug smile from behind Adam pissed me off ,so I figured I would make my leave. No need to entertain these buffoons if they won't even speak. That was until I caught the eye of Daniel. Sigh drop dead, sexy ass Daniel. However it was his friend Josh, a really hot junior that had a habit of staring me down during passing periods, that gave me a flirty smile
" Hey baby!" Josh continued smiling and started to move as if he was gonna walk towards me. Daniel glared a hole into the side of Josh's head while "accidentally" dropping his bag on Josh's foot.

" Oww man what the hell!!!" He limped away as the rest of the team murmured and chuckled. Apparently they had lost interest in harassing me, so they made they way back to sit on the short brick wall.

Daniel lingered though. He was tall like a basketball players usually is with dirty blonde hair. It always looked messy as if he had just rolled outta bed, but it was still hot as fuck so no one teased him about it. I wonder if he did it like that on purpose thinking girls liked the bedhead look. Not gonna lie it was working for him.

As I was thinking about how it would feel to run my fingers through the blond waves I realized he was staring back at me too. His dark blue eyes danced under thick lashes. There was no denying it Daniel was a head turner.

I smiled just as annoying ass Eric started talking again. Damn I thought he had left already. Ugh! Rolling my eyes I started walking away as he yelled, "Danny here wants another hug!", and he tried to push Daniel towards me, but with the considerable height difference Daniel barely budged.

With raised eyebrows I watched Daniel's retreating form as he tried to hide a blush. He has never actually talked to me beside a few words at the homecoming game when all of this nonsense started.
