"Your Grandmother's house."

My grandmother, Cassandra.... The one I hadn't seen since I was 10 and my mother cussed her out of the house.

"I don't know about that. Last time I saw her it didn't end well." I swallowed the lump in my throat. Daniel reached over and linked his fingers through one of my hands.

I was too panicked to automatically let go of his hand and instead focused on the contrast between his creamy pale skin and my tan one from hours out on the softball field.

"What happened?" After about five minutes of silence staring at out hands and daniel rubbing his thumb across mine he finally spoke.

"She tried to take my sister ..... Saying I was unfit to be around her! Who the hell she thought she was i dont know so her and my mom got into a big argument with that psycho after she said I was a mistake that should have never been born.."

Tears stung my eyes out of anger and pain of the memory. I had never even meet the woman before and she hated me like everyone else. I thought we were supposed to be family.

" So I haven't seen her since then after I accidently set her on fire. She wasn't hurt just pissed off and scared." Just thinking of her my grandmother left a bad taste in my mouth. Daniel paled like he'd seen a ghost.

"How did you set the fire?" His voice was husky and low. Shocking me. How had I set it?

"All I remember is her talking shit about my eyes and I got so angry I must've blacked out because next thing I know her whole outfit is up in .....purple flames." I had assumed theat I was seeing things at the time but now I could only come to one conclusion that didn't make me sound crazy.

"Were those my flames like your blue ones?" Daniel's face was still a ghostly white and didn't say anything. Instead he made eyecontact with me and the blue stars seemed to be shining so bright i was worried someone would see even through the tinted windows.

"Yes. They were the same color as your eyes right?." All I could do was stare and nod like an idiot, but his grave tone worried me.

"This is way worse than I could have imagined... You are so powerful already without the seal broken. I'm sorry, but we have to go and see her. Cassandra will have the book and if you are as powerful as I imagine we need it fast.
