Andriette's P.O.V
The rest of the day went by real fast. I spent some time inside with my sisters when they were out of their room, and when they were in their room, I went back outside to hang out with Arrow. Before I knew it, the day was over, mom came home, and night had fallen. I walked outside to talk to my dragon.
"Hey, Arrow?" He looked up. "I think we have to move you."
He cocked his head to the side as if to say, "Why?"
"I have to start school tomorrow, and I'm not going to be here all day to cover for you. That means we have to hide you."
I pointed to the woods behind my house.
"There's a special spot in there that is especially hidden. It's big enough for you to hide until you heal, and no one will find you. Just give me one sec."
I climbed back into my bedroom through my window and grabbed my How to Train Your Dragon journal and flipped through the pages -- as I walked back to Arrow -- until I found the map to the "Special Spot".
I put the map in this journal because it kinda reminded me of the cove from the movie that Hiccup hid Toothless in.
I tried to not let my mind wander to how my situation was slowly turning into the same situation in the movie.
I stood next to Arrow and said, "Okay, let's go."
He nodded in understanding and slowly started to rise. He must have been feeling better because he didn't immediately fall back down, but he was still heavily leaning on his right leg and his wings.
Slowly, we started to make our way to my secret spot. After a bit of time, we came to two pine trees that were side by side.
I looked back down at my journal to be sure that we were in the right place because from any angle, they looked normal. When we went around them, facing the opposite direction we came from, I did indeed see a wide tunnel leading down into the earth.
When I started walking down, Arrow grabbed the back of my hoodie in his teeth and pulled me back. He looked at me with what I could only describe as sad puppy dog eyes and made a kind of whimpering sound in his throat. I understood immediately: he was scared.
I patted his head in front of his spikes. "It's okay, boy. It'll get bigger and brighter as we go,"
He still looked hesitant, but he still followed me into the dark tunnel. I kept my hand on his head as we walked to let him know that I was still there.
For about ninety steps, we were in complete darkness, which would have made anyone turn back, but we kept going. Eventually came into a large cave.
I knew the cave was really deep because the ceiling was far overhead, and the area was really, really wide, making it a generally great place to hide, dragon or not.
We could see perfectly, too, because there were glowing crystals everywhere, emitting soft lights in the colors of purple, blue, and green. There was also a small underground pond that had crystal clear water.
I looked around with a smile, and so did Arrow. It was our "Cove", and it looked magical.
"You are gonna have to stay here until you heal and we can get you back home," I told him, feeling a small pang of sadness at the thought of him leaving.
He seemed to know why I felt sad because he nudged my hip with his head. I started petting him with a small smile.
"Go on. You can explore," I told Arrow.
