Andriette's P.O.V
Images flashed in front of me: three arrows found their mark in a dragon's leg as it roared and crashed in my yard. Time seemed to speed up and the next thing I knew, I was watching me and Arrow flying through a storm as if our lives depended on it. An arrow found itself lodged in my arm and as I fell, another arrow found its mark on my dragon. I watched as we fell. I wanted to run, scream, help, anything. But I was numb. I watched as we were captured in nets and pulled into a ship. The next thing I saw; Dagur was standing over me laughing maniacally.

I jolted up, panting and sweating. I immediately looked around me to see Arrow curled around me protectively, still sleeping.

I put my head in my hands and tried to calm my racing heart.

My dragon's okay. No one will get him. It's just a dream. Dagur's never gonna touch him.

I absentmindedly ran my hand across his cool scales.

I never thought I could have a dragon for a friend, and yet here I was, sitting with my dragon, petting him, looking at him, and yet, I still couldn't believe it.

When I could breathe normally again, I layed down against Arrow and grabbed my phone from the other side of him and checked the time: 4:36.

I let out a small groan. That means I had about two and a half hours until mom would get us up to get ready. I knew full and well that I was not going back to sleep, so I stood up and walked over to the small pond.

I noticed that the crystals were glowing with a dimmer light than they were earlier. I'm no expert, but I guessed it changed brightness because of the time.

Shrugging it off, I knelt down and stuck my hands in the cool water.

The water really nice, so I closed my eyes, ridding myself of my nightmare.

~~Time Skip~~

About two and a half hours later, I checked my phone again and realized it was time to get ready for school.

Oh, crud, crud, crud, crud.

I grabbed my phone, notebook, and pencil, and headed out, but I stopped at the entrance to the tunnel. I turned and sped back to Arrow. I put my hand on his head and he sleepily opened his eyes.

"I gotta go now, boy. I'm gonna be gone all day, but when I get back, we're gonna have lots of fun and fish, okay?"

He nodded and went back to sleep.
I smiled and raced to the tunnel.

"Stay here!" I shouted. Then I was gone.

I could tell that the sun had just come up when I reached ground level, mostly because I wanted to go back to bed. Luckily, the run back home was enough to wake me up.

When I got through the back door, Bella was standing right there.

"Where were you?" She asked. "I checked your room earlier, and you weren't there."

I did the mature thing in this situation. Did I lie? No. Did I tell the truth? Heck no. So what did I do?

I screamed "Reeee!" In her face and ran.

Real mature, I know. But in my defense, I wasn't good in these situations.

Who knew I wouldn't be good in a situation where I have to hide a dragon from a TV show in a seemingly magical cave while having to attend my first day of high school?

As I walked in my room and locked the door, I snickered at the face Bella made when I did that. It was something like this: (((;ꏿ_ꏿ;))).

I looked in my closet, which mostly held fandom based t-shirts and hoodies. Eventually, I decided not to wear anything fandom based. I didn't want to freak out my dragon when I got home.
