Jack's P.O.V
I don't know how long we've been flying. We left my house what felt like an eternity ago. We just flew in no general direction, having no idea how to get to another dimension. Eventually, probably about nine o'clock, we saw a storm on the horizon. I'm not sure if Andriette told Arrow to go that way, or if Arrow went that way on his own, but we flew straight into the storm.
Now, I was holding on to Andi tightly with my arms and her dragon with my legs. There was no lightning or rain yet, but the wind was ferocious. Arrow flew steadily through the wind, cutting through it like a knife. I wasn't sure how Andi wasn't cold. She wasn't shivering as far as I knew, and she was really warm like she always had a little fire inside of her.
I, on the other hand, was shivering like I was just pulled out of the ocean during the winter. I tightened my grip on Andi slightly, attempting to share some of her warmth and keep myself from falling off.
We kept flying. Further and further into the storm. The air crackled with electricity. The first bolt of lightning struck, followed by thunder not a second later. I faintly heard yelling below the clouds and felt Andi tense.
"Arrow, speed up!" She shouted. "I'm sorry, boy, but we have to get out of this storm!"
I felt Arrow nod his head as he put on a new burst of speed. The wind threatened to throw me off on the dragon, causing me to tighten my grip even more. I was surprised Andi could still breathe. She looked down, and I'm not sure how she saw anything, but she shouted, "We're over water! I don't think we're in our world anymore!"
I wasn't about to look down, but I had a feeling she was right. It could have been the storm or the fact that I was riding a freaking dragon, but something in the air felt different.
"There!" I faintly heard someone shout.
"Arrow! Faster!" Andi urged.
The universe must have had a different idea, because rain suddenly slammed down on us, trying to force us into the water below.
I briefly wondered if it was possible to drown in the air because it felt like the ocean had relocated itself in the sky.
"Who are we running from?" I shouted in Andi's ear.
"I'll tell you later!" She shouted back as a lightning bolt struck right where we were seconds ago.
Arrow flew even faster, going higher at Andi's request. Rain pounded my face, causing me to duck my head down. Finally, we broke the clouds, seeing clear skies above us and a sunrise in front of us (which, what the heck? It wasn't even twelve a few minutes ago??). Arrow spread his wings to their full length and slowed his pace, allowing us to sit up straight again.
Andi stretched out her arms and back, releasing her legs from around her dragon, making me hold my breath. When I stopped holding my breath, I opened my mouth to speak, but all that came out was a loud yawn.
I could almost see Andi's smirk. "You tired?"
"A little," I lied. I was pretty tired. The adrenaline of running away and flying through a storm faded, leaving me feeling like a bag of flour.
"You can take a nap," Andi reassured me. "You're not gonna fall."
I did not like the thought of falling and wanted to stay awake, but once again, the universe had a different idea. My body sagged forward, falling on Andriette's back. My muscles relaxed and I was too tired to be scared about falling off the dragon. Soon, I was asleep.
~~Time Skip~~
The first thing I heard was Andi mumbling to herself. "Come on, Jack. Ack! Rea- nO, no, no! Arrow, help meeee."
