Bella's P.O.V
As soon as I heard the door close, I rushed to the window to watch Mom and Andi leave. When they were well gone, I turned around and made my way to the door."Where ya' going?" Naomi asked.
"I'm going look for something," I replied. "Andi's clearly hiding something, and I'm gonna find out what it is."
Naomi put down her phone.
"I'm coming, too. I'm bored," She said, following me into our older sister's room.
"How can she find anything in this mess?" I asked, looking around the room.
Drawing supplies were everywhere. Her blanket was half off her bed. Posters from different movies, shows, and books covered the walls, and in the empty spaces, quotes from characters were written down and stuck to the walls.
"'I'm fine!' Percy shouted as he ran by, followed by a giant screaming bloody murder.'" Naomi read aloud. She snorted a laugh and said, "I might want to read that."
I looked at her book shelf. Ironically, it was the cleanest part of the whole room. Books were placed neatly in alphabetical order on the cherry wood shelves and the red wood was polished. She had so. Many. Books. It was ridiculous.
You don't have time. Focus. I scolded myself.
I knew what I was looking for. I had only seen it a few times, but it was simple enough to memorize. Andi's journal was a simple, old timey leather bound book with her first name sewn into the front with gold thread, in English and what she said was Old Norse. Normally, she carried it around with her so she could write and draw in it. I just hoped that she left it at home.
"Uhh, what exactly are we looking for?" Naomi asked.
"Anything out of the ordinary, or anything she's not supposed to have. It'd be great if we could find her journal."
"What does it look like?" She asked.
I mentaly sighed.
"It's a leather book with her name in gold thread on the front," I explained.
"Okay..." Naomi trailed off, crouching down to look at the bottom shelf in the book case. "Is it one of these?" She pointed to the many leather bound books.
"I doubt it, but I sure hope so," I responded, kneeling down next to Naomi so I could help her look.
We pulled out the first journal. It had her name sewn on the front in silver thread and some strange letter looking symbols underneath it.
"Ancient Greek," Naomi said.
I looked at her weirdly.
"What?" She asked. "I don't spend all my time playing sports."
I just sighed and pulled out the other journals one at a time. They all had Andi's name in different languages and different color threads.
The second one was in red thread and Naomi identified the language as French.
One of them was in rainbow thread and the writing under Andi's name was just the words "Rawrrr Awrawr Growl" We were both highly confused about that, but went on to the next journal because this clearly wasn't the one we were looking for.
Many, many journals later, we were done and we didn't find the journal.
"I didn't know she had so many journals," I said. "But she only carries that one around, which means it's something important."
"If she carries that one around, do you think she brought it to the store?" Naomi asked.
"I don't think she had it when she left," I replied.
