Since chances are you probably won't look into it otherwise, here is a brief summary:
Basically Luka had a ghetto college boyfriend and he got her pregnant and then ditched her and so her very best (and only) friend Meiko decides to move in and help her because she actually has two kids, Rin and Len. And then later they adopt Miku it's just a whole thing anyways Meiko is really angry and Kagamine (the father) and she holds a grudge against him for years so she's an alcoholic and stuff BUT THEN she meets Kaito and he is excellent
