It boiled under the surface
The hidden beast
Underneath a mask
It was a mask
I wore day in and day out
A smile here
A smile there
Not a wince
Not a frown
I was playing
The part
I was human
I was human
I kept telling myselfI'm Human I have to be.

It's always a struggle in a young wolfs life trying to find there place accept themselves. Find a place where they are accepted if the world did not have set standards of everything you had to be life would be so much simpler. The poor would be taken care of the young would never be teased or hurt in all my years of living I strived for it equality for all. In packs you are put into a place best suited for you when I was little I was found shivering cold, wet from rain to the point it had soaked my entire undercoat for days I was left out in the rain. The pack I was placed in was hell lineage became your only chance of having a life. If you where born to nothing with no parents no blood line to have your back. You where nothing I was beaten and broken with no one to turn to I became bitter and angry all I could see in the world was the negative."Nico?" I smiled Brad's voice was the best thing the world to my wolfs ears.
"Hmmmm" I rolled over smirking at him.
"You said we where going out and you still don't have a shirt on" Brad whined looking at me boredom must of gotten to him.
"Ok ok I'm up" I chuckled changing out shirts for a short sleeve white v neck. "ready to go kiddo?"
"Hey I'm not a kid" Brad pouting his grey eyes shining lower lip poking out slightly.
"Hmmmmm well you are old enough to date me ,but still to young to drink" I chuckled walking over pulling him into my arms. Pressing my lips firmly against his as he melted into my arms.
Brads arms wrapped around my body as I slowly pulled away. "Come on the beautiful California Coastline waits for us" I smiled opening the door and holding it open for him. Soon enough we where walking on the board walk the sun warm on our skin the scent of sea water in the air."So what was it like when you first changed?" Brad looked at me curious as we sat down a bit away from the waves on some rocks.
"I'm guessing you mean shifted?" I chuckled nudging him with my shoulder.
"Yeah that" He looked away slightly flushed.
I stretched my legs out leaning back on my palms. "It a weird sensation one between agony and pure and complete euphoria" Brad scooted a bit closer to me pressing his body against mine. "The jolt of power that rushes through you is releasing its lets loose a much more instinctual side that many people forget."
"Releasing?"
"It's hard to explain its like you holding a dam together with you bare hands it holds back all the humanly stresses that comes from being human like stress from work, home, love, just living everyday life. This power gives you the freedom to release and forget all your human troubles and dive into the world of animalistic instinct." I smiled feeling my canines emerge from my gums my eyes flashing gold.
"For you it was freedom?" Brad nuzzled his face into my shoulder.
"It was my release from reality" I chuckled turning my head to nuzzle it into his hair. "I love the feeling of wind through my fur the earth beneath my feet the way my howl sounds as the wind joins it's song" I closed my eyes letting out a soft howl.
"You speak with the heart and soul of a poet" Brad leaned his head on my shoulder.
"It's what I am" I chuckled
