Chapter 3.

Lena's pov

I walked towards my office as my servants ran around be getting me to sign things and pick colours and such, whilst Eve was telling me my schedule for today. "Where is Guard 2?" I asked as Eve and I were left alone in my office. "I'm not sure." Just then Kara burst through the doors. "I am so sorry your Highness! " I watched as Kara stood to attention but I could see that she oblivious didn't get much sleep.

"Did you sleep last night?" I asked her as Eve left Kara shook her head and sat on my arm chair. "If you do not mind me asking, could you tell me why?" She shook her head, "I know Alex told you everything, I am a super human she told me, however I do not feel like super, I have nightmares, almost every night, about my life in Sakovia and even before. " I sat next to Kara and wrapped my arms around her I did not care if it was not the proper way I just knew that I had to comfort her.

"Kara, let me help you." She looked at me and smiled. "It feels strange to be referred to as my name. " I smiled and said "Well you better get used to it. " Kara laughed and we pulled away.

"Tonight, there is going to be a ball tonight, so all of the other royals can meet me as a queen, I want you to stand at my side and to not leave my sight." Kara nodded her head and answered. "Of course your Highness. " I sighed. "Lena." I corrected her so Kara repeated me, "Lena."

Once I had gotten ready for the ball I was ushered away towards my throne to stand infront of whilst the part goers would be introduced to me. Kara stood next to me in her formal suit that I had provided which I must say fit her well. "You look beautiful. " I said smiling widely at Kara. "As you do Lena as always." I smiled and soon the royals started to arrive.

After about twenty or so royals one came in a lot prouder than the rest with a less proud looking woman in his arm. "His Grace James Olson Duke of _____. And Her Grace Kelly Olson Princess of _____." The two bowed to me and I followed before the Duke began to swap pleasantries. "Your Highness, It has been so long. I believe you have never met my sister. " I smiled as Kelly bowed again. "Your Highness. " I nodded so she stood back up and I answered. "It is lovely to meet you Your Grace, please do enjoy yourself. " the pair thanked me before leaving.

I was then able to sit on my throne, so I did just that as Kara stayed still next to me. "Enjoying yourself Kara?" Kara simply nodded before Alex came over to us. "Captain." I greeted as she stood before me. "Everything is going well, I have not seen or heard any suspicious as of now." I nodded happyily before music started to come from the band. "Go dance with your fiance Captain. You deserve a break." Alex bowed as a thankyou before rushing over to Maggie her fiance and the moved together into the sea of people, they began to go along with the dance.

I looked to Kara and wondered if I should ask her to dance. I thought i Best to wait until the next one. As soon as another started up I stood and took Kara's hand, "dance with me. " I beamed but she found and answered, "I do not know how. " I shook my head and pulled her along. "I'll teach you. "

Everyone cleared a path for us for us as I began to teach Kara what to do, she soon was able to dance like she had been all of her life. We waltz together before another piece started to play however we stayed together on the ball room floor, Kara learning the dances quickly each time a new one was being played.

The music soon ended for the royal meal I was hosting so I had to sit at the head. Once everyone had entered Kara and I walked in and sat down in my chair before everyone else sat down to join me. Kara sat beside me at my request and James sat the other side bring the Duke of my country and his sister sitting next to him. "You danced beautifully your Highness. " Kelly told me as we all began to eat our starts. "Why thankyou Your Grace." I looked to Kara who smiled at me before going back into soldier mode. "And your lady friend." James continued from Kelly. "She is my body guard and my dear friend." James nodded his head before finishing his food.

"You are very beautiful for a guard, if you will not mind me saying." James said directly at Kara. Kara said nothing. I placed my hand on her's and asked. "Are you feeling well?" Kara nodded her head and answered James. "No I do not mind at all..." I did not like how nervous Kara suddenly got at the word beautiful. "Why so stiff Miss? You look like you are being integrated." Now that upset me when Jame said that but before I could say anything to him his sister scolded him. "James! Please." I thanked Kelly with my eyes. She nodded and soon the main course was brought out.

After dinner the guests left and I brought Kara to my quarters. "I am worried about you Kara. What happened when James called you beautiful?" Kara shook her head and sighed. "W-when you are the only fe-emale around and you start to... Blossom as they say-y... " I stopped Kara before she could say anymore I knew exactly what happened to her and I felt angry because of it. "I am deeply sorry, you should not have one out of only a few of your memories be that disturbing. " Kara sighed before yawning and leaving to her room next to mine. I followed behind her. "I want the memories before that. I want to know why I have powers, I want to forget Sakovai." I nodded my head and helped Kara take her jacket off when she sat on the bed. "Kara, I will help you, I promise. " I then offered a hug which Kara took before I left to my room to sleep.

(Basically Kara explained why she didn't like being called beautiful and told Lena that she wanted to know who she is and what she is. And Lena said she would help her.)
