Hell and back [Dukesaw fic]

Real camping

Veronicas POV

After I get back, we stay up for a few more hours by the fire. Heather stays out with us the whole time, even though I though for sure that she would go back to sleep in the RV early.

Once the fire dies down, we pour our bucket of water over it and the smoke clouds up as the flames disappear. Heather gives us both a hug, and offer to let us sleep in the RV.

"It's a lot more comfy than sleeping on the ground," she offers leaning against the side of it, "I've got extra space."

"No, we're camping the right way, and roughing it," Duke remarks heading over to our tent, which isn't far from the RV, "no bed, or electricity, just us under the stars."

"It's not my fault I need to plug in a white noise machine," she scoffs.

"We know, we know, it's nothing personal Heather," I say getting in the tent, "Get a good nights sleep, okay?"

"Goodnight guys, don't stay up making out all night!" She giggles before closing closing the RV door.

I roll my eyes playfully and I lay down next to Heather in my sleeping bag. I curl up inside of it, and try and fall asleep. The dull pain in my back stings when I bend my back as the wound splits. I hiss and straighten back out again. Not the most comfortable, but I'll live.

Heather wraps her arms around my waist and pulls me close to her, nuzzling her face into my hair. I sink back into her arms, and sigh.

I want to stay up against her like this forever. I don't want to fall asleep, because I don't want to miss any part of this. When I break up with her, I'm not sure if we're ever going to get back together again.

I tell her that I don't have a choice. That would certainly lessen the blow, and we could still hang out in secret. But what if we get caught? I don't even want to know what happens if we got caught.

A/N this is just a lil mini chapter, since I'm gonna be taking the train to Chicago soon and I've gotta get ready for that. I might post another mini chapter when I'm actually on the train, but I probably won't get another full length one out til the end of the week. I'm definitely gonna write an aquarium date one shot when I get back though since I'll definitely be going there.
