Calamity hesitated before walking through the large wooden doors, both held open with concreate door stops in the shape of the school's mascot. The medium sized sculptures both depicting grim reapers with hoods hiding the well carved skulls in a shadow due to the suns position. They were hunched over, their skeletal hands clutching large scythes that curled up to the flowing robes that connected their body to the base of the door stopper slab. She entered the hall and looked down the extended corridor that had open classroom doors and lockers placed in between each propped open door; students littered the hall with clustered groups dotted throughout the students that were walking the hall alone. She gripped the strap of her bag tightly as she looked at the banners lining the wall near the tops of the doors and lockers that read 'Grimstone Phantoms Pride', the grey of the paper was slightly crinkled, and the black paint looked crudely painted onto the banner. She turned her head to her right and walked over to an open room which read 'Reception' on the glass window that took up most of the wall connecting it to the adjoining room which was a shut door that read 'Janitor'.
As she walked inside, she was greeted with a desk and several chairs lining the wall in front of it, behind the desk there was a younger girl sitting behind it. She looked no more than twenty, her fire red hair pulled up into a messy bun with a pencil stuck into the mess to hold the updo in place. She had fair tan skin and large black plastic glasses sat against the bridge of her nose as she sat typing at the computer in front of her. Calamity cleared her throat causing the woman to look up, she then quickly stood and brushed out her cardigan sweater before offering a smile. "My apologies I didn't see you come in and being that I don't recognize you I am assuming you are Mrs. Calamity."
Calamity was a bit taken aback by this women's older way of speaking, as well as how polite she was. "Yes, I actually just got here so its fine. I was just hoping I could get my locker number; it wasn't on the schedule or the map my brother picked up yesterday."
The woman smiles again and sits back down, turning her back to Calamity and opening a drawer on the inner corner of the large desk that looked like it could swallow her whole if she weren't careful. "Well, that's because we don't really assign lockers here. We do things a bit differently. I am sure you noticed how the classrooms were numbered on your map." She plucked out a small paper attached to a clipboard before turning back to Calamity, motioning to a chair that Calamity walked over to and pulled away from the wall and up to the desk before sitting down in it. The woman sat the clipboard down in front of Calamity, it was a long list of numbers with spaces next to them with lines for signatures. "The way we have our school set up is a bit tricky to get used to but being that you are a senior this year all of your classes and locker will be on the fourth floor of our school. Since we do it this way, we allow all our students to pick out their own lockers on their respected floors." She turned away once again and grabbed a pen before turning back and holding it out to Calamity.
It was black and grey, the same mascot printed onto the top of the pen. It was a hooded face with only its eyes and a cheesy spiked smile visible in the black as they colored the visible color a deep midnight purple. The hood was a light grey to match the color of the concrete and flyers she had seen walking into the doors, under the mascot print was the words 'Grimstone Phantoms' also in black with a purple outline around each letter. Calamity gave a soft sigh and took the pen, flipping through the papers for a bit before signing her name next to 427 and handing back both the pen and the clipboard to the woman. She then watched her turn to the computer, type a few things on the keyboard before taking a sticky note off a pad near her. She jotted a few numbers down before handing Calamity the note. "Here is your locker combination. Can you find your way to home room on your own?"
