It wasn't to much longer the two sat and talked, occasionally pausing to listen to the storm rage outside the window in the kitchen/dining room area. After a while of conversation Calamity sat back and yawned into her hand softly before softly stroking the rim of the tea cup that sat in front of her, Adrian noticed the yawn before setting his own cup onto the table which he had refilled twice.

"Calamity you look tired, do you want to go up to bed and rest?" He watched her rub one eye, trying to force them open while shaking her head softly. Adrian sighed and stood from his seat and walked over to her, leaning down to be eye level with her. "You are tired, I can see it and don't even need to sense your lying. Now come on."

Calamity glanced at him and gave a soft sigh before standing from her seat. "Alright, just dont lecture me ok?" Adrian softly tilted his head before standing up to his full height, following behind her upstairs and to her room. He had one hand hovering behind her in case she fell as she climbed the stairs. Once in her room she collapsed into her bed, her dry eyes from the tears falling shut quickly.

Adrian softly leaned against the doorway, staring at her for a moment. "You should change into your night clothes before you fully fall asleep, it will make you feel better." Calamity opened her sleepy and heavy eyes to look at him before sitting up and nodding. He watched her move to her dresser before turning away and softly closing the door to give her privacy, leaning against the wall beside the door. He stood quietly, listening to her moving around the room before the weight of the bed creaked the floor. He opened it again and peeked in on her, watching her laying still in the messy bed with her breathing slow and even. He moved over and very gently tucked her into bed and very softly brushed her hair from her face, studying it for a moment before tucking the strand behind her ear and leaving the room for the night to allow her to rest.

It was a peaceful night, she didn't dream and slept deeply due to her exhaustion as well as the rain still pounding down outside and against her window. However she did open her heavy eyes to the blaring of her phones alarm, causing her to sit up softly and rub her eyes using the inside of her wrists. After a moment she leaned over and shut it off before staying in bed and shutting her eyes while remaining sitting, her body threatening to go back to sleep. She forced her eyes open and swinging her legs off the side of her bed before standing and moving to her bedroom door and opening it, being greeted to the smell of cooking eggs and coffee. She shut her eyes, enjoying the smell for a moment before heading downstairs and into the kitchen where Adrian stood by the stove. His long curly hair being held back by a hairband and his torso covered by her brothers apron, he took a moment to notice her before fully looking at her. "Good morning, I didn't hear you rise. You must be hungry."

Calamity stared at him for a moment before moving fully into the kitchen and heading for the coffee pot, watching it brew. "I just woke up, so it's fine." Adrian let his eyes follow her before staring for a moment.  "Did you rest well?" He watched her nod before turning his attention back to the eggs he was cooking, putting most of his focus on them. "I am glad." Calamity eyed him softly and mumbled. "How did you sleep?"
Adrian stiffened softly and hesitated before answering. "I don't really sleep, I haven't in almost two hundred years. Not since I was myself." Calamity looked down at her hands softly, both resting on the counter.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know..." She looked up as the coffee pot finished brewing, reaching to the cabinet above it and pulling down her school thermus for the rich scented brown liquid. "I didn't expect you to know." She glanced at Adrian again, his back still to her as he finished the eggs and began to plate them. The smell of the eggs no longer a pleasant smell as she watched him plate the dry and overcooked eggs.
"Uh Adrian no offense but, I don't think those are edible. I honestly don't know how you messed them up that bad." She poured her thermus before moving over to look at the plates, Adrian watching her as she does.
"You think they are that bad?" He watches her nod before moving to the fridge, turning off the burner before watching her fully.
"Ya I am not going to be rude and lie but I am not eating those, I will eat at school." She poured cream into the thermus, capping it and shaking it softly to mix it all together. "I need to go up and get ready, so I am not going to have time to eat. You should probably get ready to go, where is your bag?"
"In my metal cabinet at the school." He watched her laugh to herself and look at him with a questioning look. "Your metal cabinet? It's called a locker old man." She shut the fridge before heading back upstairs to get ready for the day, throwing on her favorite band shirt, her school hoodie and a pair of black jeans and her converse. She stepped into the bathroom and started putting on her makeup before checking her school bag and throwing it onto her shoulder and grabbing an umbrella before jogging downstairs. "Adrian, you ready?"
She looked up from her feet to find him standing by the door, leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed like he was relaxed where he stood. He was wearing the clothes he had on from the night before, including his dirty boots. "I am, just waiting on you." She decided to bring up the clothes later before following him out the door and locking it, she turned to speak to him only to find him staring out at the street with a serious look. His deep red crimson eyes scanning the street, the trees and the neighboring yards with extreme tense focus.
"Adrian? Something wrong?" Her question drew his attention, not moving but looking at her out of the corner of his eye. Somehow the look made her chest warm, his eyes were lidded with a look of dark intentions written across his face.
"No, the area feels off and heavy. I haven't felt this feeling in a long time but at the same I can't place the feeling. I can ignore it for now." She stared at him a moment longer before following him down to the sdiewalk, his body close to her almost like a guard dog as he kept his eyes on their surroundings.
"You are hovering, are you sure you can ignore it?" She looked up at him as they walked, watching his good eye flick between different areas. He just simply nodded without a word, still close to her side until they arrived at the school where he seemed to mildly relax but not by much.
Jade met them at the front door, raising her hand to wave them over and beaming once Calamity walked up before eyeing Adrian who was still hovering near the street and watching over his shoulder. "Whats with him?" Jade asked as she eyed Calamity who looked over at him and gave a soft shrug of her shoulders.
"Honestly no clue, he's been like this since this morning when we started walking." Calamity bit back her concern, in the past few hours and week she had spent with him she had gotten to learn a lot about him and yet somehow the way he stood had her on edge. It was hard to beleive that this was the samn threatening and menacingly suffocating boy that had the guts to pull out a gun in public and tried to shoot her, and yet there he stood with a blank face but everything about his body language screamed fear.
"Spooked by his own shadow maybe? Who knows, I can't ever figure him out, anyway did you hear about Shelly? Supposedly she heard that theres like a mountain lion or something thats been attacking people." Calamity looked at Jade again as she spoke, this past weekend Calamity had spent so much time up in her own head she hadn't payed much attention to the outside world. Jade noticed the spaced look in her eyes then frowned. "You didn't see? It was all over social media and the news, I am surprised you didn't see any of it. Are you ok? Are you still worried about your brother..?"
Calamity looked away at the mention, if it hadn't been for Adrians company she would have probably spent of the weekend crying in her bed until she was dehydrated and throwing up. "Ya I'm fine from all that, just still trying to wake up I guess but no I didn't hear anything about it honestly." She eyed Jade again who simply nodded and put off the brother topic.
"Ya I guess they found a couple bodies in the woods outside of town all torn up and chewed on on friday but I guess it got worse over the weekend and like six more popped up, Shelly said she over heard her dad tell her mom it may be a mountain lion and I mean he works with animal control so maybe they are onto something." Calamity looked past Jade at the section of forest that Adrian was staring off at, the town was surrounded by a good chunk of them. Compared to the city that was a thirty minute drive away it was considered rural, there was some far land beyond them so it made sense to her that aggresive wildlife could be hunkered down in the trees because of the farm land and possible live stock.
"Ya thats a possibility I guess..." Calamity looked over as Adrian suddenly walked up on the two, she was so focused on the tree line she hadn't noticed he had turned to join them. She watched him for a moment before looking back at the tree line beyond the schools sports field which was a large field and the tree line was fanced off since the school property ended at the tree line. She hardly was able to hear the conversation Jade and Adrian were having but from the corner of her eye she could tell Jade was mocking him playfully in someway by the way she was moving and changing her stance. Was that why Adrian was acting so strange? Had he read it in the paper, since he made it clear he didn't plan on using the TV since he couldn't figure out how to work it.
"Calamity." She was pulled from her thoughts as she looked towards the sound of Adrians voice, where both him and Jade were staring at them. Jade of course looked concerned, and Adrian remained as emotionless as ever but the way he was staring she could only assume he was as well. "Are you gonna follow us inside? First period is about to start." Calamity simply nodded before following them inside with one glance over her shoulder, something just wasn't sitting right with her but maybe it was just the worry about a loose mountain lion.

For now, she chose to ignore it.
