The two sat on the floor for what felt like several hours, just silently enjoying the others company. Calamity felt like the look in his eyes was something she had been missing, someone who looked at her and really understood what she was feeling inside rather than one of pity and a false understanding of what she flet. She finally managed to pry her eyes away from his, leaning away from his touch as thunder roared and shook the old house almost to its core. She forced herself onto her feet and out of his arms, listening to the windows rattle in their panes before looking down at him while wiping her face on the insides of her wrists.

"I don't think you should walk back in this; it is raining like hell out there." Adrian took the hint; their moment was over. He stood from his spot on the floor and eyed his dripping clothes.

"Well, this would have happened anyway. That's why I try to stay out of the rain." He raised his eyes from his hoodie to look at Calamity, who tilted her head to one side and began to ring the water out of her hair.

"What do you mean? Where have you been staying?" Her eyes soften slightly as he shrugs and tries to wring his hoodie out onto the floor without taking it off.

"Here and there, I don't usually sleep so I just kind of wander. I probably walk all over this town at least four or five times a month." Calamity just stared at him before looking away from him, letting her fingers linger against her hair.

"So, do I finally get to know what you actually are? I mean I hardly see you eat, now you are telling me you don't sleep, on top of what happened today with the Jeep and how quickly you managed to get here." She turned her eyes back to him again; however, he wasn't even looking at her. He was looking at the house around them, his eyes lingering over the walls and windows as he listened to her.

"Do you really think you can handle the truth, because I don't think you can." He lets his eyes fall on her again, motioning to the puddles where they had been sitting. "Do you have anything to clean this up with?" Calamity shook her head softly, clearing it a bit. Somehow, she found that image of him brushing his hair from his face at lunch began to wander back into her thoughts, but she swallowed them down.

"Ya, do you maybe want some fresh clothes to change into? You and my brother should wear similar sizes." She swiped her hand up and down in his direction, motioning to his body before she wandered into the kitchen where she grabbed a mop from a bucket. As she lifted it to wring it out, she paused, gripping the handle tightly. This was the same guy trying to kill her so why did she feel like she should be nice to him, his words echoed in her head again. 'I understand fully.' She sighed and walked back to him, starting to mop up the water as he watched her, water still dripping from his hair.

"I would have done that; you didn't put all the water on the floor you know." She lifted her eyes to his face, the sad look in his eyes hadn't changed. His long black hair was still clung around his face, though now that it was wet, she could see how long it was. It stretched down maybe an inch past his jaw and the ends were slightly curling in on themselves, though she hadn't noticed it being curly earlier, so it was probably the rain still clinging to it.

"I do have manners, you are the guest here, so I got it. Let's just get you dry clothes so I don't have to follow you around with a mop." She turned and left the mop against the wall, leading him up the stairs and into her brother's room. She hesitated in the doorway, her eyes falling back onto the bed which caused another lump to rise in her throat.

"How long will you be alone for?" She swallowed the lump, clearing her throat and blinking the tears back down into her eyes.

"I don't know, hopefully not long." She regretted being honest with him, but if he could easily catch her in a lie, she didn't see a point in arguing with him. She moved to her brothers' closet, pulling it open. He had taken most of his clothes but there was still a decent amount left, she moved a few shirts aside until she pulled down a solid black t shirt. It was slightly stained from years of use, but she took it off the hanger and offered it out to Adrian, who stepped forward and took it from her. He held it up, inspecting it for a moment before setting it down on the bed as Calamity moved to the dresser on the other side of the room.
