They haven't talked in a week.

Maya couldn't focus on school work or anything really those days. As hard as she tried she still couldn't erase Corpse from her mind.

It felt like the beginning of something so great but Corpse ended it before it could go anywhere and Maya just didn't know why. She lost motivation for school too since she didn't fit in really and it seemed like there wasn't anyone who would get her.

She got invited by the fellow international students to go to a local bar. It seemed like a great opportunity to forget about him and get closer with the students since it would be good to have friends who could help distract her through this. A few girls arranged to get ready together at one of their dorms and invited Maya as well.

It felt nice to hear about their boy troubles. She felt a bit normal again.

They met the others at the bar. Everyone was already a little tipsy from drinking back at the dorm, but Edo offered to buy her a drink right as they entered. He was an italian guy she shared a class with. They spoke a couple of times but didn't really know each other yet.

Maya happily accepted knowing well she couldn't afford to buy one herself.

She liked Edo, he had those dark sparkly eyes and an adorable accent. A handsome young italian guy would probably be the right start to her attempt to forget Corpse.

But as she drank more and more she couldn't stop thinking about Corpse. How she wished she kissed him while she had the chance and how she wished he was there right now so she could have another shot.

As Maya got closer and closer to Edo during the night she couldn't stop comparing him to Corpse. How they had the same eyes but Corpse's sight carried so much more kindness and emotion. And how they had the same dark curly hair but she didn't care about Edo's much, yet she wanted so badly to bury her fingers in  Corpse's hair when she was around him.

So there she was standing over at a corner dialing his number. She got a lot of encouraging looks from the girls throughout the night hinting that her and Edo could end up together. But no one knew about her secret man that she was trying to forget so no one stopped her from making this unfortunate drunk call.

He didn't pick up the first time but she was too drunk to understand the message so she just called again.

Hello stranger!...
So I'm at this bar and I may have gotten a little drunk.

What the fuck do you want?

What? Sorry, can't hear you over the music.
Anyways I was just thinking about you.
We had fun didn't we?

Corpse was mad that she called her. He didn't want anything to do with her anymore. But then why was he so jealous when he heard the other students laughs and cheers in the background?

I thought we were over.

"Hey Maya baby, come here I got us drinks!"

He heard a man's voice in the background. He was furious.

Don't fucking call me!

He wanted to just hang up, but he couldn't. He wanted to hear her voice.

What?
Did you just say that we are over?
Oh, I never knew we were ever a thing.

You're right, I won't fucking call you..

But if you have anything to say to me why don't you just come the fuck here, huh?

"Why don't we meet up so you can?"
Or whatever the fuck you said.

She didn't know she was so mad until she lashed out. But she wasn't that angry at him, it was mainly about her. She was mad at herself for getting attached. It was just such a fucked up situation.

So she got back to doing what she came here to do. Trying to erase all of her memories about him from her mind.

I need a fucking cigarette and a shot!!

Maya didn't smoke but she was just so furious that she felt like it could be the only thing to calm her down at the moment.

It could have been 20 minutes or an hour later, she wasn't paying attention to the time, when she went out in front of the bar with a couple of the girls again to smoke more cigarettes when she saw his car. It was parked on the other side of the street. She saw that he was sitting in it but couldn't quite make out what he was doing.

Hey I know that guy!

She started going in the car's direction crossing the street. She couldn't walk in a straight line but thankfully there were no cars around so she made it through fine.

Maya are you gonna be okay?

On of the girls who didn't drink as much asked her as she was walking away from the group.

Yeah yeah. He's a...friend.
