(Avery's POV)
"Christina did you do anything you'd like to tell me about?" My grandmother sternly asked, folding her arms as soon as I walked through the door. I hated it when she called me that. My full name is christina avery parkington, but I hate christina so I go by avery.
"I was just a little heated," I looked down ashamed.
"Mhm. Go to your room, your not getting dinner. And I want you to apologize to this girl tomorrow. Your behavior was uncalled for and inexcusable. I don't want to see you the rest of the night," she demanded, pointing upstairs.
"Yes ma'am," I said walking upstairs. Luckily, she didn't say anything about my shoes.
I went through the halls and to my room. It was a grand room, high ceilings, diamond chandelier, a boucany, every thing.
But the best thing was the tree that was right outside the boucany.
I called megan.
•phone call•
M: hey girl what's up?
A: hey, can I come over?
M: yeah. Doors unlocked.
A: cool. Be their in 10.
M: I'll count the minutes.
•end of phone call•
I grabbed my pillows and made it look like I was there and sleeping. I turned my lights off, went outside, and climbed down the tree. I decided to walk so she wouldn't get suspicious when my bike isn't there.
I felt a tear go down my check.
Stop avery you can't do this. Not right now.
I wiped the tear, but another one soon replaced it. And another, and another, and before I knew it I was full out balling.
"Why do I have to live like this" I shouted. I didn't care. I dont care at all these days.
I didn't feel like going to Megan's house anymore, but I didn't want to go home either. I just sat in the middle of a side walk, pulled my legs to my chest, and cried.
"Avery? Avery!" I heard a familiar voice shout.
I look up to see Cameron, in tight knee length shorts and a tank, tuning towards me. He was all sweaty and red faced.
"Are you ok?" He said crouching next to me.
I nodded and wiped my tears, but they we replaced with new ones. My mascara is probably all over my face.
"Are you sure?" He asked, concerned.
No not really.
"I'm fine," I said looking down.
"Why are you here in the street? Why are you crying?" He asked, puting his finger under my chin and making me look at him.
"Just wanted to get away from the house," I shrugged.
"What happened? What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing"
"Something wrong tell me"
"I-i don't want to talk about it"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
He pulled me into a hug.
"I'm always here if you need me. I live in browns brough," he said.
I nodded and pulled away. I walked towards the house. I looked at my phone when megan blew up my phone.
Megan: its 10 min
Megan:where are you
Megan:I'm getting worried.
Megan:avery
Megan: earth to avery
Megan: gurl if you don't answer me back I'm coming to find you
I texted her back.
To megan: don't worry babe I'm fine. I got caught then I fell asleep.
She replied seconds later.
Megan: good. Don't do that.
I put my phone down and walked to my bathroom that was connected to my room. My eyes were red and puffy, my face red, and mascara all over checks.
I cleaned up and went back to my room.
Why did Cameron care so much?
Why does my grandmother hate me so much.
Why can't mom just be here right now?
All these questions went through my head as I fell asleep.
