Together again

My ass was beyond numb! It had been more than three hours sitting in this freaking saddle. Where the hell was this miraculous place of Levi's? I glared at the back of his head. He turned slightly as if he knew I was doing it. The dude was beyond real. Real fucking hot, I snorted to myself.
“Can I murder him, then bring him back to life?” I muttered to Armin. He snorted.
“I think this Hange person might be able to help you with that.” After our talk in the bell tower, Levi took me back to his room. Captain’s quarters were far better than the dorms officer rooms. Levi had his rooms sound proofed. Which was another reason I wanted to get off of this horse!
My ass really hurt. I didn’t get to sleep until four this morning. Freak ass Erwin said we could sleep in, but his freaking bushy eyebrows was banging on the door at six yelling that I was going to miss roll call! All of this was making me want to use the ODM gear to hang myself.
“Cadet Yeager stop glaring at the back of my head, …” Levi paused. The dramatic bitch that he was. “…before I knock you off of that horse!”
“Please do, sir, my ass hurts!” I yelled. Levi's horse suddenly reared, twisting to the side. He managed to get it under control before spinning it around.
“Dismount!” He yelled at us all.
“Thank god!” I whined only loud enough for Armin to hear.
“You won’t be saying that when we reach the barracks. I think he is going to make us walk the rest of the way.” He muttered.
“Cadet Yeager since your ass hurts so much…” He reached over taking the reins from my fingers. “… you, and the other Cadets can walk. Stay on this path, it will take you right to headquarters.” With that Erwin laughingly took the reins to the other horses. They galloped away.
“Asses!” I swore.
“You wanted to get off of the horse!” Mikasa snarled. She marched ahead of us.
“Are you going to tell me what happened after we left you two alone?” Armin asked. I smirked.
“What do you think happened? We haven’t seen each other in two years.” I drew in a breath looking up at the cloudless sky. “We got reacquainted.” I told him. He laughed.
“Such a big word for that pea brain of yours!” I went to slap him. He dodged. Then we began chasing each other laughing as we ran. Mikasa yelled at us, but we didn’t listen. For the first time in years we didn’t have adults looking over us. We were able to be children for a few minutes. After another hour of walking, we began to get thirsty.
“Really wish they had left us some water.” Mikasa grumbled. We came around a bend, a large ranch house sat before us. The ground around it was dry and dead looking. The house looked like it could use a good painting.
“That’s headquarters?” Armin and I glanced at each other.
“It is. We have water.” Levi dropped out of a tree. His ODM gear folding back into its pack as he held out water bottles to us. Erwin came striding up as we gulped the cold beverage.
“Had you stayed on your horses, you would have been here an hour ago.” He chided us. “Now, just curious, can any of you cook?” Mikasa and I both turned to Armin. He blinked.
“Not for everyone!” he cried. Erwin dropped an arm over his shoulders steering him away. He looked back with a pleading expression on his face. I laughed.
“You'll do fine!” I called to him. Something brushed my hand. Levi was looking up at the second floor of the house, his hand brushed along the back of mine again.
“Mikasa, go fix the windows up there.” He pointed. She frowned.
“What’s wrong with them?” she asked.
“They're filthy. You will find supplies in the shed over there.” He pointed to the only new looking building around us. She grudgingly walked away. My hand was snagged. I was yanked backwards. Up into a tree. Arms wrapped around my waist. I chuckled as I turned in those arms, settling onto a branch. Leaning over I kissed him. He snuggled into my arms.
“Miss me?” I asked once my mouth was free. He punched me in the gut, just hard enough for me to grunt.
“You nearly gave me a heart attack when you yelled out your ass hurts!” He snarled. I giggled.
“They all know about us!” I said.
“You do realize what we can do with this gear? The woods around here could very well have prying eyes.” I looked around. He slapped me.
“Not now, that’s what I was doing while you three walked here. I made sure the eyes weren’t close.”
“Good thinking.” I pointed out.
“Fuck you! It’s why they made me Captain, Brat.” I couldn’t hold in my laughter. I doubled over. If not for Levi holding me, I would have fallen from the tree. “What the hell?” He demanded. I tried to reign in my amusement. I only managed to gasp out.
“Captain Brat!” before losing it again. He shook his head. Pressing his body tightly against mine he cuddled into my arms until I could regain control.
“God, I missed that sound.” He whispered eyes half closed. I stroked his hair.
“What, me laughing?” I asked. He rubbed his face back and forth on my shirt.
“No, your heartbeat.” He whispered. He sounded like he was almost asleep. I nudged him with my shoulder. I felt his hands tightening around my waist. Little pressure points dug into my back where his fingertips held on.
“Don’t tell me you snuck into my room, back in highschool just to listen to my heart beat.” I kissed his head.
“Not just… I read your diary too.” I chuckled. Sure, he did. I didn’t have o… wait! I shoved him away from me. He groaned.
“What the hell, Eren?” He glared with sleepy eyes up at me.
“I never had a diary. Please tell me you didn’t read my fanfictions!?” I begged. He snorted.
“Is that what you called them?” He shrugged forcing his way back into my arms. “It’s where I discovered just what you like.” I groaned. No! This can’t be happening! Luckily,  I burned them before coming to school here.
“Levi, they were fiction. Ships that I liked from Mangas. Nothing in them was real.” I whined.
“Well you really liked it when I used those techniques on you. You know when we fuck.” He sounded a bit pissy. I chuckled. Kissing his head again.
“Did it ever occur to you, that I might just enjoy you fucking me?” I hissed. “Now stop trying to shock me with your vulgar vocabulary.” He pinched me.
“Shut the fuck up, Yeager.” His small head shifted to my shoulder. I felt his face as he snuggled into my neck.
“Levi sleeping in a tree is not a wise idea.” I stated.
“Didn’t I tell you to shut up?” He hurmphed as he sat up a bit. “Besides I have my gear anchoring me, and my body is anchoring you.” I saw the logic in that. Gratefully I closed my eyes. Levi sighed against me. My arms pulled him tighter. I didn’t care what the world had in store for us. I only cared that we would face it together.
We were awoken by a spray of water that went right into my ear. “How the hell… fucking shitty glasses!” Levi was screaming at someone laughing manically below us. I wiped the water from my face to look down.
Mikasa stood off to one side, arms folded. Erwin, Armin and a person with thick glasses, auburn hair and a creepy ass smile were holding a hose looking up at us.
“We found you!” glasses stated.
“Lunch is ready!” Armin called.
“I am going to murder you all!” Levi screamed. I tried to wrap my arms around him but he shot away, I began to tip, falling out of the tree. My right hand brushed the branch as I attempted to save myself. I braced for the impact with the ground. We had been up pretty high, this was going to hurt.
Suddenly I felt arms around my waist. I was jerked backwards, spinning up into the air. Looking over my shoulder, Levi was there. “How?” I breathed. There was no way. He was going for them. Not even Mikasa could turn directions that fast on the wires! He removed one hand to press a button that lowered us to the ground. Once my feet touched earth, I spun in his arms. He was still about a foot from touching down. I kissed him.
“Don’t make me spray you again. Baby Erwin won’t let us eat until you two are in the house!” the weird person stated.
“He is the best on the wires.” Erwin met my glance.
“What a sap!” Armin giggled.
“Come on, I want food.” Mikasa complained.
“Who is the bossy one with the glasses?” I asked Levi.
“Fucking shitty glasses. Better known as Hange Zoe. Do not go to the basement alone!” he warned storing his gear. We walked back to the house together.
“Why did she, he um Hange, call you baby Erwin?” I asked Armin. He snorted.
“As soon as they came up from the basement and saw me, that was what they screeched. They wouldn’t listen to what my name was.” He shook his head. “I’m not sure what gender they are. Erwin simple calls them Hange or Lieutenant.” He shrugged. I nodded.
“Fine with me.” We got inside. If I thought the outside looked like a disaster inside was worse. Erwin slapped a hand over Levi's eyes.
“Just keep walking.”
“I already saw it, fucking eyebrows, let me go!” Levi was squirming but Erwin frog marched him into the kitchen. Here it was clean. Every surface scrubbed to shinning. The wood was polished.
“While  you guys slept, we cleaned the kitchen.” Mikasa complained. Levi attempted to dodge around Erwin.
“The rest…” He muttered.
“Can wait until after lunch. I already made up a cleaning chart. Now go eat or I will tie you to a chair and feed you myself!” Erwin ordered. Levi huffed. “That’s an order, Captain!” Erwin growled. Levi stepped back. Saluting him he growled.
“Yes sir, Commander!” Erwin saluted back to relive his friend. It was one of the few times I ever saw him pull rank, on anyone. Over the next four years that we lived out here, it was typically with Levi that Erwin did use his rank to get the shortest of us to comply.
As we watched them, we all hid our smiles. I heard Levi mutter “fucking brats" under his breath as he marched to the table. He took the only seat with a tea cup in front of it. The rest of us spread out over the table, gobbling up the food as Levi watched on sipping his tea.
