Levi POV
I stood at the window. It was dark outside. Both Eren and Marco had fallen asleep after we played several hands of cards. I had never played with Eren before. The kid was good,  but no where near as good as me. To keep them playing I lost a few hands.
Erwin was out there. My hands clenched tighter onto my elbows. I didn’t know where he was, what he was doing. This was the first time he had gone into battle and I just sat on my ass. Even if I had been injured, I was on comms with him. Now I felt like a forgotten house wife. Could I really leave that life?
Slowly I turned. Bright ocean blues looked at me. Yeah, as long as he needed me, I would be at his side. Erwin knew I couldn’t fight worrying about him. I sighed. “Hey.” Eren called. I lifted my head. He held his arms out. I shook my head. Turning my back to him, I looked out the window once more.  I had no idea what I was searching the darkness for.
“EREN DON’T!” I heard Marco yell. Spinning around I saw Eren standing beside the bed. One hand on the bed rail the other on the handle of the wheelchair. Luckily the wheels were locked. I raced across the room catching him.  Once I got his dumb ass back in bed, I slapped him upside the head.
“What the hell were you thinking?”  I demanded.
“You wouldn’t come to me.” He pouted. “I should be able to get into a chair by myself.”
“That’s what you’re here to learn how to do. Don’t be an idiot.”
“Then you stop being one too!” He snarled at me. “Erwin is out there but so is Armin and Mikasa. Do you not think I’m not terrified too? Setting here felling like a piece of garbage because I promised them I would always fight for them!” His voice was raising. His entire body was shaking with the effort to yell at me. And he was crying. I knew he wasn’t even aware of the tears streaming down his face. Was this the first time he cried? Erwin had said he was close to tears when I left that night. Had he cried alone?
“Don’t you think how useless I feel right now?” his voice cracked.
“Don’t make me hit you again.” I stated in the calmest tone I could muster. “Armin isn’t in battle. Wait, Armin isn’t it battle!” I repeated louder.
“Yeah, so?” Eren looked confused.
“That means I can go kidnap him and bring him here. He will have Com units and maps!” I cried. Quickly I kissed Eren.
“Just go, hurry back!” He yelped shoving me away. I dashed out the door. My motorcycle was parked in a spot near the doors. I jumped on, racing the lights as I screamed toward the new headquarters. The moon was a crescent above me. I reached the guard shack.
“Sorry Captain we have orders…” Yeah fuck your orders. I thought I revived the bike. Swinging sideways I took it over some side trails. Did Erwin seriously think keeping me off base was going to stop me? Idiot.
I reached the building in the back corner. Guards were posted at the door. These weren’t even Pixus men. How many troops did they take? I wondered. The first guard met me halfway up the stairs. I dropped him right there. As his partner came at me I head-butted him in the chest. He gasped for a second before I knocked him out as well. I was through the door they left unlocked.
Dashing down the hall, I was pretty sure Erwin wouldn’t put Armin in the communication room. He knew that would be the first place I would look. So where would be the last? My feet skidded to a halt. He wouldn’t!
I turned a corner racing down a new hall. Running down the stairs I reached the underground rooms. Sure enough guards lined the hall.
“Captain we don’t…” One met me I waded my way through. Only a dozen or so filled the short hall. They didn’t wait but attacked me three and four at a time. I didn’t care. I was used to this. Finally, I reached the door. A few cuts, a lot more bruises, but Armin was coming with me. I didn’t care if the room beyond the door was packed with solders. I opened the door. Hange stood there. Her back to Armin’s.
“He didn’t just take out half a fucking squad!” I heard Erwin’s voice yell. I marched up to Armin.
“Next time use a whole goddamn battalion, it won’t matter. Focus on getting your ass back here alive!” I snarled into the comm.
“GODDAMNIT LEVI!” Erwin screamed. I laughed.
“Fight well, friend.” I snorted. I turned to Armin. “Are we going to have an issue?” I asked.
“No, I’m ready. I told him this wasn’t a good idea. He just wouldn’t listen to me!” Armin swung a heavy looking bag to his back. He turned to Hange.
“You coming?” She looked away adjusting her glasses.
“You know I don’t think that’s a good idea, Armin.” She whispered.
“Why the hell not?” I demanded.
“She thinks Eren blames her some how.” Armin informed me. I snagged the back of her collar.
“Come on, idiot.” I snarled. “Stupid shitty glasses don’t piss me off!” I hissed when she tried to fight me.
“Levi, I…” She began. I threw her ass out the door.
“He doesn’t think like that and you know it. In fact, I’m surprised he hasn’t asked about you. As a fucking doctor you have the duty to be there for him.” Yeah, I laid it on a bit thick, but she was being a moron.
We decided to leave my bike in the garage. Taking Hange’s jeep instead. I refused to let her drive. “I want to see my fiancé again.” I hissed.
“Wait YOU GOT ENGAGAED?” She squealed
“Not officially. I haven’t had time to get a ring yet.” I said. She huffed. Then spent the rest of the drive telling me all about styles and cuts and shit I didn’t care about. By the time we got to the hospital, I wanted to strangle her. Typical night.
We walked in. The person behind the desk tried to tell us visiting hours was up. We ignored her. Well, most of us. Armin and I just headed to the elevator, Hange decided to talk to her. I called out the room number and left her. Once in the elevator I reactivated my comm. Erwin’s voice came over the line.
I listened to his orders. His voice soothing me. I didn’t pay too much attention to what he was saying, only to the erythematic tones. He was alive and doing fine. That’s what I needed to know. Mikasa’s voice came over the comm. Curt, controlled she was every bit the solders Erwin thought she would be. Would she stay on without Armin or Eren with her? I truly hoped so. Not because I wanted Eren to myself, which I did, but she excelled as a solider.
The door dinged open. We headed down to Eren’s room. Voices could be heard spilling out into the hall. How the hell did she get up here before us? I ran the rest of the way.
“Let him go four eyes!” I screamed barreling into the room. I dragged Hange off of Eren. “Marco is over there.”
“NO!” Marco yelled.
“Mikasa is doing well. They are heading into the warehouse now.” I told Eren. “I haven’t heard Jean yet.” I informed Marco. “Most likely he doesn’t have a comm unit.” I told Marco. Armin had rescued him from Hange’s clutches.
She sat in the window between the two beds. “Eren, I’m sorry. We did everything we could…” her voice trailed away.
“I know you did, Hange. I don’t blame you at all for this.” He said.
“You shouldn’t blame your father either. By the way, where has he been lately?” She inquired.
“Probably took off. I woke up nothing more for him to get his hero-worshipping in. I’m sure the doctor and nurses were fawning over him for saving my life. Now that it isn’t in immediate danger any more, I’m not a priority.” Eren sounded so bitter.
“I don’t know about that.” I muttered. Eren looked at me. “Yeah, I know. I’m not taking his side or anything, but he really didn’t leave your side until you woke. The guy was here day and night. Not out roaming the halls, but right here beside you.” Eren turned his head away. I could tell he wasn’t ready to hear any of this. He wanted to hate someone so he chose the person who continually hurt him. I sighed.
I sat back to listen to the mission. Armin was directing one of the troops. From what I could tell there were four. Mikasa lead one, Jean was with her. This cheered up Marco. Then Erwin and Pixus each had a troop. The last was lead by Armin. He had a physical person on the scene he was relying his orders too. They were all moving as one. Armin was the eyes and ears for all the groups.
It didn’t take them long to search the warehouse. There was nothing there. Some odds and ends that indicated something had been there but they must have abandoned the place once Reiner was caught. Then the screams started. A B.R.A.T unit activated.
I moved to Armin’s side. Watching the divided screen in front of him I saw the chaos unfolding. The troops were being crushed. ODM gear came out. Many were able to get to higher ground. Then the worst thing possible happened.
Mikasa and Erwin teamed up to go head-to-head with the unit. The comms cut out. “Armin, what’s going on?” I demanded. Twisting the machine to try and find them. “They are going against it with swords.” He stated awed.
We flipped through the camera angles he had. Nothing showed the pair on wires. Every so often something would fly off of the machine. It was dark and grainy. I couldn’t tell what was going on. Suddenly the edges of the picture began to curl. Static filled the frame, right after a burst of flame shot up to melt the camera. We were now deaf and blind. With  no idea what happened to any one out there.
They had set up a trap for our men. I was certain Reiner had no idea that was what was planned. Erwin had told me how long he had held out against Mikasa. Holding out anything with a girl that pissed and that powerful was something. My eyes went to Eren.
The comm crackled. I heard bits of words then my name. “Levi, now!” I was moving before anyone could say anything else. Armin yelled out an address.
