Eren POV
“Jean, wait a minute.” I called out after leaving the mess hall. Marco paused turning with the other. Jean looked back at me. I rushed over catching up.
“Can I, uh, can I speak to you, alone, for a minute?” I asked. Jean nodded toward Marco. He walked off just out of ear shot.
“What is it?” He demanded.
“Look, I’m an idiot, I’ll admit that…” I paused rubbing at the back of my head.
“So, we agree on something.” He said. I smirked.
“You remember that big tall blond, Reiner, from high school?” I asked. He nodded.
“Yeah, he used to torment you.” Jean turned to fully face me now.
“He tried to rape in the bathroom. He wasn’t alone either…”
“No, he had that tall bean pole of a kid with him…” I saw the realization light on his face. Slapping my hand over his mouth I leaned in.
“There was another unit like our B.R.A.Ts out on the testing range, Reiner was piloting it.” I hissed in his ear. His eyes widened more. Lowering my hand I looked at him.
“I need someone to have my back.” I said watching him. He stood still for a moment. Then held out his hand.
“You got it.” I took his elbow, slapping my other hand on his shoulder.
“This doesn’t mean we have to stop our little fights.” I teased. He pushed me lightly away.
“You're an ass, Yeager.” I saw the tiny grin on his face as he yelled at me. I nodded.
“Yeah, I know.” Throwing a fake punch at him. He chuckled.
“Alright, stay safe.” He gave a tiny wave, before going after Marco.
“That looked chummy.” Glancing over my shoulder I saw Levi leaning against the last fence post for the cattle yard. I turned.
Walking up to him, I towered above his small body. Placing one hand beside his hip on the pole I leaned over. “How much of this do we still have to hide?” I asked. The hand hidden by our bodies reached out to curl up in my shirt.
“I wouldn’t broadcast it daily, but being seen around each other can’t hurt.” He muttered.
“And if I decide to kiss you, outside?” I asked leaning further down, our faces nearly touching.
“Fucking…” was as far as I let him get. Quickly I pressed my lips to his. My fingers digging into the wood of the post. He kissed me back without moving from his relaxed stance. After a few seconds I pulled back.
“…brat.” He finished. I laughed at him.
“You're cute.” I stated walking a few steps backwards.
“Eren?” looking up I saw Bertolt strolling towards us. Levi growled.
“Hey, Bert, what’s up?” I called. He shifted his gaze to Levi, then back to me.
“Is there something going on between you two?” He asked. I chuckled.
“Yeah,” I grinned. His eyes widened. “We're friends, since high school.” I told him.
“You keep saying that, but you guys always are found together in the strangest of places.”
“We are literally in front of the mess hall, how is that strange?” Levi asked. Bertolt looked at him, his top lip curling slightly.
“You know what I mean!” He cried.  I smiled up at the slightly taller teen, clapping a hand on his back I joked.
“Ah, Bert, you want me to meet you in dark corridors, out in the woods, maybe we can take a moonlit stroll tonight?” I teased. He jerked his arm away from me.
“Not funny, Commander.” He growled. Deciding it best to ease up on him I sighed.
“Bertolt, seriously, there has to be someone from high school you're chummy with? Are you telling me that if they were here right now, you wouldn’t want some time alone, just to talk and destress with them?”  As he thought about it, his shoulders relaxed. A soft sigh escaped his lips. His eyes darted out toward the training field.
“No, you're right. If they were here…” He drew in a deep breath letting it out forcefully. “I’m sorry, Eren.” He mumbled, forgetting Levi was right here as well.
“Not a problem. Don’t forget the weapons training was rescheduled to this afternoon.” I reminded him as he turned to walk away from us. Levi waited until he was out of sight before slapping me upside the head.
“What was th…” He snagged my wrist yanking me along with him to a dark corner in the cow barn.
As he slammed me against the wall, using his entire body to hold me in place, he arched up on his tiptoes to try and look me in the eye. I leaned my head back with a smirk, he just wasn’t tall enough. “Brat.” He hissed then elbowed me in the solar plexus to force me to double over. His lips found mine. Wrapping him in my arms I returned the kiss. When his tongue demanded entrance, I allowed it. With my arms around his waist I lifted him up. His legs wrapped around me. If anyone saw us like this, there would be no denying our relationship.
As his mouth pulled free of mine, he placed his forehead against mine. “You suck.” He whispered.
“Yeah, but you like it.” I teased. He lightly smacked me again.
“Making a date with him to walk in the moonlight.” Was he freaking pouting? I chuckled.
“The full moon isn’t for another three days; do you want to meet me in the field behind Hange's lab? It’s the closest to the tree line.” I offered. The smoothness of his cheek rubbed against mine.
“Yes, midnight?”
“Sure.” I chuckled. I sat him on his feet. “You're cute when you're jealous.” I commented.
“Bitch, I’m cute all the time!” He snarled. I saw when he realized what he said. A slow blush crept over his cheeks. I laughed.
“Especially when you make yourself blush!” I giggled kissing his forehead.
“I have to go meet with Hange and Erwin, I’m sure. Love you!” I called as I walked away.
“Love you, brat.” I heard him mutter. The smile stayed on my face as I made my way to Hange's lab. Pushing the door open, the noise hit me like a bomb. Sirens and alarms were going off everywhere.  Why I didn’t hear it from outside, I wasn’t sure.
Dashing in I looked around. Everything looked normal. Then I saw the B.R.A.T units, the training brat was missing. Odd. Anyone could control that. A side door had been opened. I rushed to look out it. In the not too far distance, I saw the training brat doing a weird sort of jig.
Spinning I raced toward my own unit. Once in place I hit the com control. “Hange, Erwin, someone has taken the training brat, I am heading out after it.” I called. There was static as my unit came to life.
No sooner had I gotten out of the bay, did I finally hear from my new captain. “Erwin is calling all the personal together to figure out who is inside.” She stated.
“Actually, I think I know. Shut the alarms down, they are giving me a headache.” Silence followed this request as I came up to the unit.
“Fighting it won’t make it work for you. You have to give up all control to synchronize with it.” I told the other piolet.
“How do I do that?” Mikasa's angry voice came back.
“Face it, this is one challenge, you’re not meant for. Why do you have to try and do everything I do?” I demanded.
“Because you’re clueless. You befriend everyone, even the guy trying to kill you!” she yelled. I laughed.
“Mika, it’s OK, I know what I’m doing.” I whispered. Her face was framed in the cockpit of the other unit.
“And when it’s just the two of you out there… where no one can get to you?” she asked.
“Then have faith in me. I’m not as ill-equipped as you think.”
“Name one fight you one without me or Levi there to back you up!” She demanded. I grinned.
“Honestly, can’t we have this talk somewhere other than in a two-ton machine?” I asked. She frowned.
“It won’t turn around!” she snarled. I chuckled.
“Come on, just get out. I will give you a lift back.” She unhooked herself climbing out of the machine. I scooped her up in my robot’s hand. Carefully I carried her back to base. They sent Marco out to get the training B.R.A.T back.  Erwin took Mikasa up to Levi.
As I stood in the doorway watching a thought came to me. “Hange?”
“mmm" I heard from somewhere off to my left. “We need back up pilots, a training program for when something happens to the three of us. Plus, I know once we show what we are capable off, the demand for these will be high.” Turning I tried to locate the others body, I gave up deciding to hold the door for Marco.
“Yeah?” The muffled reply came to me.
“You are building more, right.” Suddenly a head burst out from under a table, a screwdriver held sideways in their mouth.
“Yes, we are.” That manic grin. I shook my head.
“Put Jean and Marco on the list. Never allow Mikasa or Armin to pilot one. They will do better with Levi.” I turned back. The large unit was almost to the bay door.
“You and Erwin think alike. He told me the same thing. Which means the Levi squad will need new members again.” I nodded.
The unit back in its place, I closed the door. It was only mid-morning. Erwin ordered me to meet with him and Hange in his office. I frowned. This was going to be some meeting. I was sure Levi would find a way to weasel in. Smirking I followed my new Captain out of the lab.
“Eren, when more units are built, I will need a lieutenant…” She let the rest of her thought open. I nodded.
“Let's see if I survive round two with Reiner and Bertolt. I’m sure this time, they will make sure Levi can’t come rescue me.” They looked over at me, a dark determination shown in their eyes.
“Sure.” They winked. We turned down the corridor to Erwin's office. Levi was standing with Mikasa outside the closed door. They looked to be in a deep conversation. Both heads turned when they heard us. Mikasa snorted before hurrying the opposite way. Levi watched as we walked up to the Commanders door.
