Levi POV
Seeing Eren walk again filled me with both extreme happiness and some sadness. I knew this was what he wanted over anything else. This would get him back in command. That's were the sadness came in. This would put him back in danger.
It would be a more profound danger. Not only could the B.R.A.T bot break down, but his leg could. Hange had assured me it was state of the art. Wired nerve endings connected to Eren's own nerves. For him it would feel just like any other leg. Like his real leg. She cautioned me that he would have to take it off at night. Plus she would need to adjust and update it occasionally. It didn't matter. To see that smile on his face.
"Stop zoning. Your suppose to be getting ready." Erwin told me. I had showered since leaving Eren. Erwin and I were using my bedroom. Hange would get Eren ready in the lab. What would his parents think seeing him walking again? I wasn't sure.
When I had gone to the house a few days ago to inform Carla Yeager that I was keeping my promise, I nearly had a heart attack. She looked like a living corpse. Hange had been the first person I called. She had rushed over. Being her typical Hange self, she immediately set to work on fixing the problem.
I left it to her. Then, they were both up and walking when it was time to pick up Eren. Marco and Armin had told us how depressed he was getting. I hadn't seen it. He would smile and joke around whenever I was there. I guess me telling him about my own depression really hit him hard. I sighed. A hand swatted the back of my head.
"Get your ass dressed!" Erwin yelled at me. He wasn't using his commander voice just yet. I snorted. Moving to the closet I found my tux.
It was silver with sea green and blue vest. It was as close as Hange could get to the color of Eren's eyes. I smiled as I looked at the color. It was perfect. The lighter tones would show case my darker attributes. Hange really was a genius.
Once dressed, with Erwin in a darker charcoal tux. We looked at each other in the full-length mirror. "You know, Levi, I never thought either of us would come to a day like this." Erwin chuckled.
"So, you did think no one could love me?" I teased. He chuckled.
"No, I thought you would never give you heart to anyone. Me, I've always known I was married to the corps." He frowned in the mirror. We stood for several heart beats starring at our reflection. Finally, I snorted turning away.
"Come on, my soon to be husband is waiting." I stated. Erwin caught my arm.
"Hold up, one second." He held out a flat box. I looked at him confused. He smiled. "Maybe I should be giving this to Eren." He joked. Now I was intrigued. I opened it. Inside laid a photo album, scrape book. I looked up at him.
"Really, when did you get into scrapbooking?" I asked.
"I'm not, I ordered Armin to do it." We sniggered. I flipped it open. Here was the life I wish I had. It began when the Smiths found me. I wanted this part to be the only part I held onto. There was me, smaller than anyone else I knew, I trailed behind Erwin like his shadow.
A jump in my age. Caused by Kenny taking me away. Erwin had grown too, but gone was the haunted, skeletal look of a waif. I was bigger, my eyes darker, hidden. I didn't trail behind the larger kid, but marched at his side. We never really argued. For one I knew I could easily hurt him.
Erwin was a book nerd. Many of the pictures were of him reading, while I drank tea. I chuckled. When I turned another page I gasped. There were pictures of Eren. These had been ones I had secretly snuck on my phone. Images of him in the halls at school, talking with Armin, fighting with Mikasa.
A few should have had Bertolt in them, the stalker kid who followed Eren around. I noticed Armin had cut him out. There were pictures outside of school as well. Just which one of us stalked the green-eyed boy more? I wondered.
"This is great. Show him how I stalked him." I snorted.
"There's more. I had pictures of both of you when you were separated. Also, when you reunited. You should see the differences in them." Gently he took the book from me. "That will be after the ceremony. Come on or Hange is going to go into rampage mode." We hurried away.
(Mean while with Eren POV)
After the others left, Hange thrust a garment bag at me. "Put that on." She ordered.
"Uh, where? Or am I supposed to just strip naked in the middle of the lab?" I asked. She huffed.
"Use the bathroom!" She gestured to a closed, unmarked door.
"Oh sure!" I retorted. "The person who has never been in the psycho's lab just automatically knows what's behind plain white door number one!" I rolled my eyes. Hange swatted at my shoulder, I dodged. Laughing. She froze eyes wide behind her glasses.
"Eren, ohmygod areyoualright?" She rambled the words together. I looked at her confused.
"I'm fine, what's up with you guys?" Armin, Jean and Marco stood there dumbfounded as well.
"Your leg." Jean muttered.
"Apparently it works well. I don't think he even realizes what he just did!" Marco laughed. I looked down. The fake leg stood beside my real one. When I had dodged Hange I did it out of reflex. The leg had moved as if it were my real leg. I lifted it. Kicking it in and out at the knee, which was still mine. It moved as any leg should.
"You're right, I didn't think about it. I've dodged her a hundred thousand times." I laughed. Armin hugged me.
"She is a mad scientist after all." We all quickly rushed into the bathroom. Which was bigger than I thought it should be. Hange yelling at us. I laughed, again. I could run!
"Alright, let's get changed. Eren, you can use the shower stall, Jean over there in that corner. Armin you're the smallest so next to the shower, and I will stay here." Marco directed us. We moved to where he indicated. I saw he had placed himself closest to the door. He was protecting us all. I smiled at him. His eyes danced back at me.
I hung the bag over the shower head. Unzipping it, I wasn't sure what I would find. Inside was a Silver grey tux. It reminded me of Levi's molten silver eyes. I smirked. The vest was the same green blue color of my eyes. Whoever did the color pallet had kept us in mind. I smiled. What would a kid look like with Levi's dark hair and lighter skin tone, but with my eyes? I wondered. Would that even be possible? I knew better than to voice the question.
Here in this lab, I was sure, just about anything would be possible. Would Levi even want kids someday? Neither one of us had the best of childhoods. I frowned. What did I know? We were military men. There would be no chance to raise a child like this. Mikasa would be the best option for an egg. Combined with my DNA we could get a kid that would resemble Levi and I.
"Eren stop day dreaming. Hange will barge in here soon enough!" Jean yelled at me. I chuckled little freaky horse face. I thought to myself. I donned the tuxedo. Armin wore a darker charcoal one than mine. Jean and Marco each wore black tuxes. We looked at ourselves in the mirror.
Until Hange banged on the door ordering us out. We stepped out to see here and Mikasa in greenish blue dresses. The color matched my vest. I smiled, they really look good.
"Everyone gather close." Connie called out. We did and he took several pictures of us. Then we moved to the door. My hand shook a little as I reached for it. Levi was out there, waiting for me. Hesitating briefly, I thought back on our time together. The wretched two years I had been away from him. Now, after today, no one could separate us again. I smiled.
Yanking the door open, Hange yelled for me to wait. I blinked at her. "You don't go first, idiot!" She marched up to me, cuffing a grey and black bracelet to my wrist. The wings of freedom emblem imprinted on it. "It calls the big guy to you." She whispered in my ear. As quickly as she came, she was gone. She linked her arm through Jean's moving forward before us. Mikasa took Marco's arm. Armin stepped up beside me.
"Give me ten paces, then follow." He ordered. I counted. He rounded the corner at nine. I waited another beat then, I heard the music change. I think I may murder my husband. I snarled to myself. They were playing the bridal march. I stepped out.
As I came around the corner the entire garrison of Pixus' was there. The ones that had been fighting with us. Along with all our friends. The Levi squad stood proudly. They stood on one side. My family and the few friends we had that wasn't in the military sat on the other. That was nice, but not what took my breath away.
At the front, Mikasa and Marco were just coming up to the gazebo. She went to the left, he went to the right. That was when I saw him. Levi stood on the top of the steps. Erwin just a step lower. He looked amazing. I could hear people applauding, but I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He appeared to shimmer in the sunlight as if he wasn't real. I walked up to him. He smiled as he took my hand. Then Pixus came out.
(Levi POV)
The music changed. All the idiots stood up in my way. I shifted. I couldn't see him until Mikasa and Marco moved out of the way. Then he was there. Damn he looked good. The way he moved you couldn't tell he was walking on a prosthetic leg. His head did a quick check of his surroundings, then it came to land on me. His eyes shined as he watched me. I couldn't help but feel the heat wash over my cheeks. He never took his eyes from me. I knew, because mine were glued to him
He walked up to the bottom of the steps. Being the cocky bitch he was, he held his hand out to me. I slipped mine into his as he moved up the steps. Only here did I see he had been unsure of his footing. He had offered me his hand, to steady him. I smirked as my fingers tightened around his. He stood beside me, looking down at me. Pixus stepped up to us.
Since Erwin was higher command than Pixus, he had the right to officiate the wedding. Instead, he had chosen to be my best man. Erwin, Jean and Marco stood with me. Armin, Mikasa and Hange stood behind Eren. Pixus called us to order. I couldn't tell you a word the old drunk said, because I didn't care. I had Eren here beside me.
Erwin nudged me when it was my turn to recite the vows that would bind this brat to me forever. I said them. I put the ring on his finger. I waited for him to recite the same words and place a matching ring on my hand. Now, this was the time I was waiting for. His mouth came down to mine. Pixus called us "Husband and Husband" it was the happiest moment of my life, until the shots rang out and I felt my heart explode.
