I heave a sigh before calling Grandma. It's already late at night and here I am wearing a mask like a retard. Nakasuot pa ako ng anti-radiation eyeglasses so every time na humihinga ako, umaabog yung lenses.

I don't have a choice though.

It's like I'm asking for my early death.

When I'm done preparing myself to have an impressive acting, I video called her.

"Hi Grandma," I said with a hoarse voice. Awtomatikong nagsalubong ang mga kilay niya when she heard me greeted her sluggishly.

(What's wrong with your voice?)

"I'm not feeling well." Hinilot-hilot ko pa ang ulo ko para mas kapani-paniwala.

(I don't think so. Nabagsak ka ba sa major subject mo?)

Seriously?

"Grandma naman. I have a cold, okay?"

She suddenly laughed.

(You don't look like a sick person, Serenity.)

"I am sick Grandma," I insisted.

Bakit kasi ayaw niyang maniwala na may sakit ako? Tao din naman ako ah, nagkakasakit. She smiled like she already knew that something was off.

(Okay. Okay.

I coughed really loud para marinig niya talaga.

"Ubo."

She burst out laughing na minsan niya lang ginagawa kaya napangiti na lang din ako kahit hindi niya naman nakikita. Her laugh is just priceless and I love listening to her giggles. Para bang napapawi lahat ng pagod ko.

"How's your day, Grandma?" I changed our topic before she could find out that I'm lying.

"Nothing special. I'm just knitting all day," aniya at ipinakita ang mga gamit niya. Knitting is her hobby and it is one of her happiness but other than that, wala na siyang ibang pinagkakabusyhan. Meron na nga siyang isang kwarto na puno ng mga natapos niyang mga damit but she never let me see them.

Charot.

We talked for almost an hour about what happened during my stay here. Kinuwento ko din sa kanya na may nakilala akong banda, how I admired their talents and eventually became their fan the moment I saw them performed. "You described them as a perfect Idol but why aren't they rising kung ganun sila kagaling?" she asked that caught me off guard.

"Your band is powerless, Grunt."

"Maybe because they don't have enough connections? They are just students, Grandma."

(Then help them if you can. You're Saavedra, my Granddaughter,) she sweetly said.
