SERENITY
The sky has been crying for an hour and the whole field was flooded by it's tears. I didn't dare to ask what happened because I already knew he will just keep it by himself.
I'll wait.
I'll wait until his ready to open his heart and mind to me.
"Go back!" sigaw niya dahil halos hindi na marinig ang boses naming dalawa sa lakas ng bagsak ng ulan.
"Ayoko! Sasamahan kita."
Almost an hour have passed but both of us didn't stop. Matigas ang ulo ko kaya kapag hindi siya tumigil, hindi rin ako titigil. My right foot also started to get hurt but I didn't mind it. What's important today is Cyrus.
He seems miserable deep inside.
His steps became faster but mine goes slower. Nauuna na siya sa akin pero pilit ko pa rin siyang hinahabol.
Nang mapansin niyang wala na ako sa tabi niya ay tumigil siya atsaka siya tumingin sa likuran kung nasaan ako. Paika-ika akong lumapit.
"Why are you doing this to me, Serenity?! I told you to go back! Look at yourself--" Bago pa siya matapos sa pagsuway sa akin ay niyakap ko siya.
I can feel his heartbeat and the heat of his body.
"Everything's going to be okay," I said and patted his back to make him atleast rest assured and relaxed. Maya maya pa ay nakaramdam na lang ako ng mga mainit na tubig na pumapatak sa balikat ko.
It wasn't because of the rain.
He was crying silently.
Just when I realized, umiiyak na din ako.
I felt his pain and my heart felt heavy after seeing him like this. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang bigat ng nararamdaman niya ngayon.
"It's okay. I'm here." I continued caressing his back.
"I-I love her b-but I have to let go," he managed to say in between of his sobs and then totally fell on my shoulders. My whole word stopped when he uttered those words. Hindi tumigil ang mga luha ko sa pagpatak at biglang sumikip ang dibdib ko sa hindi malamang dahilan.
For the second time, A specific question lingers around my mind.
Why does my heart aches?
"Umuwi na tayo Cyrus," ani ko pero wala akong nakuhang tugon.
"Cyrus?" Mas lalo akong kinabahan nang kahit anong tawag ko sa kanya ay hindi siya sumasagot. Nagsimula nanaman umusbong ang mga luha ko dahil hindi ko alam anong gagawin sa mga oras na ito.
"Cyrus! Cy!" Nanginginig kong kinuha ang phone sa bulsa para humingi ng tulong. I immediately called Nihan.
(What's up?)
"S-Si Cyrus.." Pilit kong pinigilang hindi humikbi.
(What happened to him?)
"H-He fainted."
(What?!)

Ilang oras na ang lumipas pero natutulog pa rin si Cyrus. Tumigil muna ako sa pagpupunas sa kanya at hinawakan ang noo niya.
Thankfully his fever had gone down.
Ipinatong ko ang basang tuwalya sa kanyang noo at tatayo na sana nang bumanggit siya ng pangalan.
