I sat on the bench of a public bus, looking out my window. Outside, I saw the sky was a charcoal grey, the clouds were dense and a storm threatened to break out at any moment.
I looked out the entire ride because I could not face the many people on the vehicle. As the raindrops threatened to spill, so did my tears. I hadn't any idea where I was headed, or how long I'd be away. The mission had been given to me so suddenly, and I hadn't received any direct instruction on what it was I had to do.

"People, you must help the people." The man who had assigned me the mission had said.
"But how? What is it I must do to help them? From what?" I had asked, panicking at how clueless this man was leaving me. It was my first mission, and I did not want to screw it up.
"Only you will know the answer to that, when the right moment comes."
"How long will I be away?" I asked, fearing I may never come back to all I know.
"Each case is different, I cannot give you a specific answer to your question, but I will warn you, you must be prepared at the end."
"For what?" I asked, genuinely confused.
"Once you have completed your mission, you must make a hard decision. It will change your life, and it will be completely up to you. I cannot say what it is you must decide, for you will know yourself in time."
"But- "
"You must leave now, the people on planet Earth need you."
Before I had time to answer, I was being sent down to Earth. I was left across the street of a bus station hidden in the trees so no one could see me.
"Good luck." The angel that brought me here said.
"Thank you." He nodded and left in the blink of an eye.
I walked over to the station and asked a woman where it was she was going.
"Any where but here." She said with a smile. I saw her get on a large bus and followed her. Her response had made me smile, and I too was going any where else, so why not?

I hadn't been given time to let it all sink in until now on this long bus ride. I was away from all that I knew, and instead in a place I knew nothing nor a single person. I felt so alone and wanted nothing more than to just finish my mission and go back to a familiar place, see a familiar face. I knew that wasn't possible, and I should just stop my wishful thinking.
I was pulled from my thoughts when the bus driver announced "Last stop, everyone must get off here!"
Great, now where do I go? I thought to myself. I got off and found myself looking out at a small city, suburbs I believe? I started walking towards a small library, as it seemed, to ask where I was and try to get some clarity. Many young people passed by on their bicycles, it seemed only young people lived here. What is this place? As I opened the door, I found a guy, about the same age as I, peering over his book and looking right at me.
"May I help you?" He asked politely. He set his book down on the counter and stood up, trying to look more caring towards his client, I supposed.
"Umm yes," I said hesitantly "I had a few questions and was wondering if you could answer them." I said, giving him a timid smile.
"I'd love to help, so tell me, what's on your mind?" He said, giving me a polite smile.
Do you really want to know?
