(Y/N)'s POV:
"(Y/N)! They're here!" my bestfriend announces from downstairs.
"Wait, I'm coming!" I yell back, quickly brushing my tangled (H/C) hair so it doesn't look like I just woke up.
As soon as I'm finished, I dash down the stairs to the front door where I'm greeting by an anxious Cameron. "Took you long enough, bitch," she greets me. I scoff. "Shut up, bitch. I look better than you do on a daily basis."
She laughs, disagreeing with me. Cameron and I have been besties since before I can remember, on account of our moms being really good friends. The door bell goes off, signifying that our special guests have finally arrived.
Her brothers have returned to New Jersey for the holidays, and the only feeling passing through everyone is excitement. The twins and I were always on good terms, apart from when they were purposely pushing my buttons.
I can still remember the sickening feeling I had as bid them good-bye at the airport when they were leaving for LA. But now they're back, and I'm overwhelmed with joy.
Cameron swings the door open, and my jaw falls limp at the boys in front of me. Now standing before me aren't the skinny little kids who I grew up with. Now, they're tall, look like they regularly hit the gym, and they're dressed in their own amazing ways.
My eyes linger particularly on Grayson, who currently has a snap back on. See, ever since I first met the twins, I had already hopelessly fallen for Gray. Everything about him has always intrigued me. He was also the one to stand up to a childhood bully of mine, and even left the kid with a black eye. And seeing him here, a full glow up later, I can feel myself fall deeper for this boy.
The only thing I could think of was, Damn, these boys have grown. In all the right places too...
"We're baaaaack!" the boys simultaneously exclaim, attacking Cameron with a death hug. "And you stink!" Cam comments, shooting her nose up in the air.
"Shut up and hug us, sis," Ethan says. They move away to hug Lisa, then turn to me with huge grins masking their faces. I hesitate but then say, "Oh, bring it in, you bozos."
And instantly they embrace me, almost making me stumble because of their weight put together. "We missed you loads, (Y/N)," Grayson says, and I feel my cheeks dust pink against my will.
"Yeah. LA is cool, but it would be so much better with you," E adds in.
"Good to know," I say, giggling. They move away slightly, but I feel Grayson hold on a second longer than his brother. But I brush it off, thinking it's probably just me overreacting.
"Say it back," Ethan demands. I smirk. "Mm... No."
He groans, rolling his eyes at me. "You're torturing us."
"I haven't even begun, E-tee-wee-tee," I tease him, winking after.
Grayson laughs throatily, making my knees slightly weak. "Good to see you haven't changed."
I smile, internally screaming at myself to act natural. "Boys, why don't you go shower and get changed?" says Lisa. "Then we can spend the night catching up on things."
"See? Even mom thinks you smell bad," Cam butts in, and I snort.
"Moooom, Cameron's being mean again," Gray whines like a child, a visible pout on his lips.
Lisa laughs it off and ushers them to their rooms.
~Time Skip to a While Later~
Cameron enters the drawing room with a slight frown on her face. "Mom, we're out of drinks. We'll have to get some from the store," she informs.
"Oh, alright then," Lisa says. "We can go get some refreshments and maybe some snacks too."
"Ooh, I'll come with," Ethan volunteers, standing by his sister's side.
"Grayson, (Y/N)—" Lisa starts, but Grayson cuts her off. "We can stay here and bake cupcakes, mom."
"Okay, then. I guess we'll be off," his mother says, making her way to the front door. Ethan winks at his brother, his lips pulled up in a sly smirk.
Just before we hear the door close, Ethan yells, "Have fun, you two!"
There is an awkward silence between us for what seems like forever, but is probably only a few minutes. "So, let's get the ingredients?" Gray asks, breaking the tension. I nod, leading him to the kitchen.
We spend a few minutes collecting all of the supplies we'll need for these cupcakes, before finally starting. There are a few moments where our hands accidentally brush against each other, and whenever he was standing near me, I could feel his cool breath fan my skin, sending a tingling sensation through me.
After we're done baking the cupcakes, it's finally time for my personal favourite part. The icing.
As I'm working on the last few cupcakes, trying to make the icing look as neat as possible, I feel something swipe my cheek. Looking over, I see Grayson sending me a cheeky grin, his thumb coated in icing.
I wipe my cheek, confirming that he had in fact put icing on my cheek. I take the baggie of icing, putting a dollop on my index finger before marking the boy's nose with it. He scrunches his face up in the cutest way, making me giggle.
He picks up the other baggie of pink icing, purposely squeezing some out on his palm, only to wipe it across my whole face. "Gray!" I yelp. He laughs out loud, and I pounce on him, squirting white icing all over his face.
Some of it even gets in his hair, but he doesn't seem to care because he tries to get as much pink icing on me as possible. We go back and forth, covering each other in icing until both baggies are empty. In the end, we're standing inches away, our breaths slightly heavy from all the laughing and squealing.
Grayson has somehow got me pinned against the kitchen counter, his gorgeous hazel eyes pouring into mine as he towers over me. We stare longingly at one another, my eyes flickering between his lips and his orbs.
In a swift motion, I wrap my hands around his neck, pulling him down to crash my lips against his. Grayson pauses for a second before kissing me back, moving his lips against mine. Our lips mould together perfectly, and I seem to forget about everything else at this point.
We kiss for a few seconds, which to me felt like hours. I break away slowly, my eyes shyly meeting his again. I smile at him, my cheeks flaming crimson as he gives me his usual charming smile.
"Finally," we hear, causing our heads to whip around. There stands Ethan, along with Lisa, who looks like she might burst with joy, and Cameron, who looks like she ate a bad taco.
Ethan gives us a slow clap. "Took you long enough to admit it, bro."
"Shut up, Ethan," Grayson says, his cheeks now starting to heat up under the pink and white icing.
"Yeah, that's great or whatever, but what the heck happened to you two and the kitchen?" Cameron demands, folding her arms over her chest.
Grayson and I move away, awkwardly trying to explain. "We–uh... Were baking cupcakes?"
Hearing this, Ethan dashes straight for the finished treats, stuffing one in his mouth. "These aren't that bad. I'm surprised." Grayson and I roll our eyes at him.
"Alright, Cam and I are gonna set things up. Meanwhile you three can clean up over here," Lisa instructs.
"Wait, what?" E says through a mouth full of cupcake. "Why me?"
"'Cause, you eat it, you help clean the mess too," Grayson states. "Now come on, E."
"Ugh," Ethan whines. "Now I gotta be stuck with you love birds?"
"Just shut up and start cleaning, E," I say, exchanging galnces with Grayson, who smiles as soon as his eyes lock onto mine. We stare at each other, and the only thing I can think of is feeling those luscious lips against mine again.
"Awh, guys Will you at least stop eye-f*cking while I'm here? Jeez."
