Right now I'm leaning my elbows on the kitchen slab, tapping my fingers. The restaurant door opens and my eyes immediately searched for the person I have been waiting to come by, from days. But again my heart was filled with disappointment, again.
It's been a week since I last saw Mr. Maxwell. I thought that night something shifted between us, the way he was smiling and looking at me I really thought he likes me too.
Maybe he was just being nice, I thought to myself.
I don't usually self-doubt myself but this feeling, it makes you vulnerable. It makes every sense go crazy. You can't think straight.
I didn't know when my eyes began to water, when Claudia walked inside the kitchen. "Hey, are you okay? Why are you all teary?"
Blinking back my tears, wiping the one that fell down.
"Nothing, I'm tired. My exams are in 2 days, I have to study late" I lied to her actually half lied. Because it's true that I have been studying late nights
"Why don't you go home early? There's nothing much work left to do" she said placing her hands on my shoulder.
I just nodded at her smiling a little. I grabbed my back and went towards Mr White's office.
He let me in after I knocked at his door.
"Yes Olivia?" He stop scribbling on his paper and looked at me
"Sir, my exams are in 2 days. So I need few days off" I asked hesitantly
"You had a day off last week and now you need more?" He asked sternly
"But I work on Sundays too" I reasoned with him
"And I pay you for that" he argued
When I didn't speak he went back to writing down on his paper.
"I have worked for this restaurant for 2 years, even on Sundays I worked. When other staffs left, I overstayed. And now when I need a few days off for my exams, you are denying that" I glared at him. I am not asking him to give me day off so I can go for a vacation.
He put his pen down standing up from his chair, walking towards me. I took a step back, why is he acting so different today?
He checked me out from top to bottom, his eyes darkening.
"Okay but in one condition. Kiss me" he said looking at my lips, his eyes full of lust.
"What?" My mouth hung out open in horror
"Kiss me" he started taking steps towards me. I started to run away from there but he grabbed my hands and started to force himself on me. He's drunk, I can smell it from here.
My eyes started to water but I know I have to get out of here. Not thinking twice first I kneeled him where the sun doesn't shine, then my elbowed him on his stomach making him stumbled back.
"you bitch" he grunts in pain
Before he can lay his hands again on me, I ran out of his office so fast that I collided with Liam.
When he looked at my messy face, he eyes shows concern
"What happened?" He said calming me down
"Mr White-he he try-y to" then I started sobbing
That's when Claudia, Liam and other staffs came and saw Mr White lying on floor, they understood what just happened.
"I'm going to kill that bastard" liam yelled but I held his hand, my eyes pleading.
