It's been a month since I and Charles are together, and this whole month has been blissful. I got job in best publication company of the city and it pays really well. Because of the job and his office work we didn't get much time to spend together, but we somehow manage by calling and texting every day.

I looked at the wall clock, then started cleaning my desk before leaving for home. I locked the cabin door stuffing the keys back in my handbag when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"leaving?" luke, a guy from my work asked

"yes"

We walked down through the elevator, talking about work stuffs and he making fun of our boss making me laugh.

"You look pretty when you laugh" he said smiling, " not that you don't pretty without, I mean you are pretty actually very-"

"Luke, Luke, I get it. Thanks" I smiled back. He looked nervous.

"How are you gonna go home?" he asked

"cab" I start looking for my phone inside my bag when he spoke again

"come I will drop you" he reached for my hand but I stepped back

"ah no thanks, I will be fine"

"NO, I insist"

"There will be no need for that" a deep cold voice came from behind, I turn around to see Charles walking slowly towards me

He looked down at me, slightly kissing my lips. He straighten his back again, now looking at Luke.

"Thanks for the offer, but I will drive my girlfriend off to her home" Charles spoke, pressing every word and his eyes fixed on Luke

"Sure, no problem. Bye Olivia. See you at work" with that he left

Charles started walking towards his car leaving me behind.

"You didn't tell me you are going to pick me up?" I started following him

"Wanted to surprise you" he opens the car door for me as I slide in

His face was stoned straight when he started the car. My phone started ringing making me look away from him.

"Freya?" I said as soon as I answered the call

"Where are you?" I heard rustling on the other side of phone

"On my way home"

"Okay I will be late today, emergency case"

"Ah, okay" I'm confused because before she used to just text me saying that she will be late, she never called

"Okay byeee, loveeee you" she ended the call, as I looked at my phone with furrowed expression

Did she sounded excited? Or was I overthinking?

I looked at Charles who was still looking at the road with pressed lips, I slowly slide my fingers through his other hand, clutching them tightly.

I heard him take a sharp breath as he turn to look at me. He lifted our intertwine hand, softly kissing them.

"I missed you" his eyes soften.

"I missed you too"

we reached my apartment, climbing out of the car I started fishing the apartment keys from my hand bag, we walked into elevator. As we reached my apartment door I unlocked it.

I gasp as I see, candles lights decorated illuminating the darkness in the living room, there are balloons flying on the floor as I walked forward, a table in arranged with delicious food on them with two glasses and a bottle of champagne.
