Wednesday, December 20th - Day Five"Are you alright?" Jeongyeon asked me, placing her hand on my thigh. It sent shivers up my spine and I rolled my neck in response as if to hide this fact.
"No, I'm honestly not," I spat at her, then slapping my hand over my mouth, "I'm so sorry."
"It's fine, you're stressed. I'm partially at fault anyway so you may as well just take it out on me," Jeongyeon said, shrugging aimlessly afterward. "This isn't the way we'd anticipated this year going, I'm sure."
"It's about the principal, Jeongie. I can't do that," I said, leaning my head on her shoulder. "And, yeah, you're right about this year being unexpected."
"I know you can't actually take things out on me, it was a dumb suggestion ," she said. "I'm honestly feeling really overwhelmed, all things considered."
"I can't imagine what it's like to be you right now, I'm really sorry about all of this. Truly," I said, moving my body farther down my couch and resting my head on her chest.
"Shut up!" Jung shouted at the two of us, turning over to look at us suspiciously. We were watching the movie Parasite and admittedly, we were pretty loud.
"Fine, finish the movie yourself," I said, grabbing Jeongyeon's hand and pulling her off of the couch.
"I want to watch the movie with Chaejin!" Jeongyeon whined sarcastically, tugging on my hand.
I kissed her on the cheek and shrugged it off, walking out of the room with my head turned down at my phone. I began to walk up the long-and-winding stairs when the sound of my ringtone began to play, echoing through the tall walls in my house. The number was unknown and I hesitated to answer, but my curiosity got the best of me. I clicked the answer button and put my phone to my ear, "Hello?"
"Hey there," A distorted and eerie voice said to me, as if it were a phone call from a horror movie. I could tell right off the bat that it was a voice-emulator of some kind and I could help but roll my eyes at this stupid attempt of a joke.
"Cut the shit, who's pranking me right now?" I said, my voice lowered and much quieter than before.
"It's not a prank, silly," a familiar voice said in response to me. I nearly dropped my phone in shock when I heard the voice say again, "It's me."
I looked around in paranoia before running up my stairs in a haste and into my bedroom. Slamming the door behind me as I came inside, I whispered into the phone, "Who in the hell is this?"
"For the past few days, you and Jeongyeon have been attached at the hip. Thank god you finally walked away from her because I swear I was getting impatient."
"Cut the shit, Sana," I spat. "What do you want from me? You got me alone so just say it."
"Well, I want Jeongyeon all to myself, that's all," Sana giggled wickedly, sounding like a cute-supervillain of sorts. That was her charm, though.
"How does faking your death help with that?" I asked her, sitting down on my bed with a perplexed expression on my face.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out, silly! Don't be naive, Nayeon," Sana chuckled.
"Why didn't you just pursue her like a normal fucking person?" I asked her in exasperation, putting the call on speaker. I sat my phone on my lap and balanced on my hands I'd placed behind me.
"I could ask you the same thing, you know. You couldn't tell her you loved her so you proposed some weird 'trial' relationship." Sana laughed at me, "That's fucking pathetic."
I hung up my phone and threw it at my wall, then screaming into a random pillow I had on my bed. I got up and began to throw things around my room, breaking and shattering things as I went. I couldn't take it. I was losing it. I heard quick footsteps up the stairs and was greeted by Jungkook and Jeongyeon standing in my doorway, their jaws dropped at the mess I'd managed to make in a less than five minute span.
"What the fuck happened?" Jungkook asked me, his mouth still agape in complete stupefaction.
"That fucking bitch called me!" I shouted at them, pointing at my now-cracked phone that was inches from the wall by my door.
"Wait, she called you?" Jungkook asked. "What did she say?"
"She basically humiliated me and laughed about it," I said, shrugging. Tears were now beginning to well up in my eyes from all of the pent-up anger I had inside me and I couldn't stop them.Jeongyeon walked over to me, ignoring the shards of broken glass and plastic on my floor and pulled me into her arms, allowing me to cry into them. She held me tightly as I did so and after a moment had passed, I pulled myself away from her and brushed myself off. "Okay, I'm good, I'm good."
"Are you sure?" Jeongyeon asked me, fixing my hair and looking into my eyes.
I couldn't resist the urge to kiss her quickly before beginning to speak, "Yes, I'm good, but I'm genuinely fearing for our safety. She knew that we were all watching a movie prior to me coming up the stairs."
"We're fucked, aren't we? She's going to kill all of us, isn't she?" Jungkook said, slowly beginning to panic.
All at once, a light bulb went off in my head and I walked past the two of them. I headed down my long hallway and into my father's office, ignoring their questions as I went. I headed straight for his desk and for the drawer in the middle. I rummaged through it until I found what I was looking for - the key to the bottom-left drawer.
"What does that key go to?" Jeongyeon asked me, stepping in the way of the desk and I, the key still in-hand.
"You guys ask too many questions," I said, motioning for Jeongyeon to step away from the desk.
"I'm not moving until you tell me what you're getting," Jeongyeon said, crossing her arms.
I stared at her dead-on, my face completely blank. Jeongyeon then moved aside with her hands up in defense and walked back over to Jungkook, picking up on my vibe. I bent down and unlocked the drawer, pulling my dad's revolver out in all of its glory.
"Nayeon, what the fuck are you doing?" Jungkook asked me, the shock on his face apparent by his widened-eyes
"What does it look like I'm doing?" I asked him mockingly with a smirk on my face. I checked to see if the safety was on before pulling the cylinder lock and emptying the chamber into my hands. I looked at the bullets for a moment before putting them back in and spinning the cylinder, staring down the barrel afterward.
"Nayeon, this is crazy," Jeongyeon said before putting her hand over her mouth in shock.
"What are you planning to do with that?" Jungkook asked me, his brow raised sardonically.
"I''m going to kill this bitch if I have to."
