For as long as I can possibly remember, despite my shit memory, Im Nayeon and I have hated each other's guts. It almost came naturally to me. The dirty looks in the halls, the nasty remarks in class. It was almost fun for me. But I never would've thought that I'd be in the situation where her brother is offering me a job.

"So, what do you think?"

Im Jungkook is a cute boy. Fluffy brown hair, 5'8 in stature, and built. He was a sweetheart, unlike his sister. He excelled in math and sciences classes and lacked in English and history classes. I'd tutored him on multiple occasions, usually only in my house, though, as it was closer to the school than his was. I went to his house one time and met his mother, but that was it. I'd no idea he had a younger sister.

"I-I don't know." I stuttered. It wasn't like me to speak so unprofessionally, or to be cautious of my words; for that matter. But the thought of having to be around Nayeon for more than three class periods a day made my stomach turn. And not in the way I liked.

"It pays well." He shrugged, shutting his locker and following me down to mine.

"Don't you think it's kind of degrading for me to be the babysitter of a girl who's older sister hates me? Can't you just put an ad on Craigslist?" I approached my locker and opened it up. It was a dainty red top locker. Junior year had started recently and it was my first year of school ever having a top locker. Let me just say, I'm as happy as I've ever been.

"We've only hired older ones so far and she's hated all of them. They put me in charge of finding someone younger and more sensible." Jungkook shrugged. I shut my locker and began to walk down the D Hall stairs with him. "Plus, that gives you the perfect chance to get revenge on her whenever you're over."

"What's in it for me besides money?" I asked, biting my lip, pulling him aside to stand with me. I stuffed my hands into my oversized black denim jacket's pockets and looked down at the ground.

He thought for a moment and spoke up. "My dad can give you a college recommendation." My eyes shot up immediately. He'd known how badly I wanted to go to Manchester throughout our many deep conversations after our tutoring sessions.

"Wait, seriously?" I retracted my hands from my pockets and played with my nails in front of my torso. "He can do that for me?"

"Anything for you, Jeongyeon." He smiled warmly at me and I found a blush appearing on my face. But before I could enjoy my moment, The Wicked Bitch of the West appeared.

"Hello, brother. Taking out the trash, I see?" Nayeon crosses her arms and smirked at me. She was wearing her cheerleading uniform, as she does on most Friday's. It was obnoxious to me. Why did my mortal enemy have to look so goddamn hot at least once a week?

"Actually, sister, I was offering her the job of Chaejin's babysitter." One of Jungkook's many qualities: not taking Nayeon's shit.

"You're kidding, right?" Nayeon scoffed and crossed her arms, tapping her right foot on the floor.

"No, I'm not. In fact, we're going out to dinner with her tonight for the interview." I nudged Jungkook a bit and smiled politely at Nayeon.

Nayeon was a character, to say the least. I knew she wasn't a bitch in general. As much as I hated her, I was able to admit that aside communication with me, she was a sweetheart. Always waving to her 'supporters' in the hall, doing charity work, and being a teacher's pet. But to me, she treated me like a pebble on the side of the road. What am I to do aside return the favor?

"I'm sure I'm going to love working with your family, Nayeon. Meeting your parents last year was a delight." I smiled kindly at her, watching Jungkook snicker quietly out of my peripheral vision.

As she was about to snap, a member of the cheerleading team approached us. "Hey, Nayeon. Do you have Mr. Nichols notes for AP Bio?" As much as I hated to admit it, Nayeon was just as smart as I was. All three of us were in the same AP Bio and AP Lang class.

"Not on me, I'm sorry." Nayeon frowned, a look of shame forming on her face.

"Here, take mine." I pulled out my bio folder and handed her the packet of notes we'd been taking throughout the week preparing for our test today.

"You're a lifesaver, J. Thanks." She waved to the three of us and walked away, staring down the notes as she walked.

"See? Isn't she hospitable? That's perfect for Chae." Jungkook quipped. Nayeon threw her hands up in frustration and strutted away, causing Jungkook and I to burst out laughing.

"If taking this job means a college recommendation AND getting to piss off Nayeon constantly, I'll take it." I nodded enthusiastically, a grin on my face.

"That dinner thing wasn't made up, though. My dad wants you to meet us at Strain tonight for dinner so my parents can get to know you."

"Aren't reservations for that place like - unheard of?" I spoke, my heart rate increasing. The thought of working for rich people terrified and excited me at the same time. At least Jungkook isn't a shallow asshole.

"Don't stress it, J. We'll pay for you." He spoke, the words rolling confidently off of his tongue. I liked his accent. He was suave but not intimidating. I could never tell if I was interested or uninterested in him.

"Alright, I'll be there, Jung. Text me, okay?" I smiled and nodded my head, playing with my fingers once again.

Jungkook suddenly pulled me in for a hug. I giggled as I wrapped my arms around his toned torso. Maybe I was interested.
