John gripped his bag tightly as he approached the section leader. "Um, Kuyo?" The older male looked up before giving John a friendly smile. "Hey, John. What's up?" Once again John was happy that someone had actually remembered his name. "So, what do we do now? School is over right?" Kuyo nodded as he pushed out of his seat and stood. "You're free to do whatever you want, as long as you don't leave campus. There's the commons, the courtyard, your dorm, and of course the classrooms you can go to. The rest of the day is yours." John nodded thanked the older male before he turned to leave.
"Kuyo, why are you so slow?"
"He's busy being bro-yo to the newbie."
John looked over to the door and saw the blonde harpist that he'd held up earlier, and the green haired flute he heard Kuyo talking to in the morning. "Why are you two so impatient?" Kuyo huffed before running a hand through his hair. "That's my cue to leave little crow, I'll see ya tomorrow." John waves to the bluette who left alongside the other two males. 'Little crow?'
"Hey."
John jumped before he turned around and saw Blyke and Isen standing behind him, along with a girl with long pink hair. "You look a little lost." Isen smirked before Blyke hit him across the head. "We're gonna hit the arcade and we're wondering if you wanted to come with. Blyke and Isen said you were pretty cool and I heard you play earlier and it sounded really pretty." The girl, who then introduced herself as Remi, smiled at him. "Oh um..." as much as he loved Wellston, he had heard that the people here could be pretty mean and unreasonable especially toward transfer students. But looking at these three in front of him, he couldn't find the malice those reviews had described.
He hummed, he didn't have anything else to do anyway.
"Sure, thanks for inviting me."
Blyke waved a hand at him. "It's not big deal, Wellston is a pretty big campus, it's like a city itself."
"It is a city Blyke."
John held back a giggle when Blyke sent a glare over at Isen. "There's a lot to do at Wellston," he continued, "since we can't leave campus, they have to find a way to keep all the students entertained." At Blykes words John piped up, "so we're not allowed to leave campus?" He had heard Kuyo mention it, but he hadn't elaborated on it at all. "We're allowed to leave on the weekends, but during the week they prefer that you stay on campus. It's just so they have an easier way to reach you." Blyke explained as the group started to leave the band hall.
"Hey, John, what made you wanna play the piano."
Oh...oh that was too much information for people he just met.
"I saw it in a tv show and it looked really fun!" He put on a smile as he scratched the back of his head. "Oh cool, that's why Blyke chose the trumpet."
"It is not!"
"It totally is." Blyke huffed and crossed his arms. "For your information John, I chose trumpet because I saw this orchestra perform when I was in middle school and there was an awesome trumpet solo, so that made me want an awesome trumpet solo." John nodded, that was partially the reason that he wanted to come to Wellston in the first place. "How about you Remi?" The pinkette perked up and gave John a friendly smile, "I used to beg Rei to let me play his flute, so he eventually bought me my own for my birthday."
'Wow, that was sweet of him.' "Oh who's Rei?" Remi seemed to mentally kick herself before responding, "sorry, he's my brother. He's the green haired flute that Kuyo yelled at earlier" 'Oh...that guy.' Now that he thought about it, Kuyo had shouted his name earlier. "And you Isen?" The trombone played proudly pointed a thumb at himself, "I, my friend, was chosen by head director Vaughn to play the trombone." John arched an eyebrow, "what does that mean?" While Isen sagged, Blyke laughed loudly, "Vaughn said Isen played too loud for euphonium, but too quite for tuba, so they compromised." John and Remi joined in on the laughter as Isen turned a dark shade of pink
"At least I have a cool origin story okay?" Isen pouted, and crossed his arms and he sulked. "What ever you say orange boy," Blyke laughed as he patted his friend on the head. John smiled as Isen swatted his hand away, Remi taking a picture off behind them. John jumped when he felt an arm wrap around his shoulder and pull him in. "It's tradition to take a first day group picture." Blyke explained as he held a camera up in front of the group. "Say cheese!" Remi cheered and John felt himself actually smile as the camera snapped in front of him.
