A Few Years Later...
I sat in the meeting room, with files stacked in front of me.
"How's it going babe?" Taeyong, my fiance, asked as he sat a cup of tea in front of me.
I sighed, slouching back in my chair.
"I get that dad is sick and all, but he didn't even tell me what to do with all these stuff," I replied slamming the file close.
Taeyong peered into my face, "Maybe you need some time off."
His face neared mine, hoping for a kiss which I wasn't going to give. I put my hand between our faces.
"Not helping bruh," I commented standing and stretching.
He sighed, "You've got to stop calling me bruh or dude. We're getting married aren't we?"
"No, YOU are getting married. I'm just fulfilling a requirement," I snapped back, leaving the room.
My long dress sweeped the marble floors as I walked on it. I grumbled as I picked up the hem of it and marched up stairs.
Ever since SME took control of my life, I couldn't find the freedom to live anymore. Everywhere I went I had people follow me. Everything was all, "Yes dad" or "Done" or "Check". It felt like my whole life was a to-do list and I was just ticking off of it.
Even Taeyong was a checklist.
If I tried defying my dad, he'll bring up Ateez and threaten to hurt them. All I could do was just agree with everything like his yes-person.
I got changed into a pantsuit, heels and let my hair down. To make sure I don't get recognized by many, I pulled on dark sunglasses.
"Baby where you going?" Taeyong asked as he noticed me leaving.
"I've got a damn business deal to cover."
"With who?"
"Some dudes called The Fellaz."
"Need me to come with?"
"You can come later with the rest on standby."
I waved to him as I climbed into the car alone. Dangerous business deals what? Ever since I was announced as the heir, the only dangerous was me.
The first time I went to seal a deal, the gangs were shaking in fright.
So that's what it means to be topdog.
I drove all the way to a secluded town, listening to an ultimate favorite song called Answer.
"Bulleo bulleo uril jigeum bulleo," I sang as I pulled up to a steel warehouse.
I loaded my gun before leaving the car. Two men wearing black masks pulled the warehouse door open.
My heels clicked against the dirt soily ground as I strut in with the money briefcase.
The men in here were all wearing dark suits, with black masks and black fedora hats. I smirked. What up with they?
I walked up to the only table that stood in the middle of the warehouse.
"Ma'am you just need to sign right there, and the deal's closed." One of the guys spoke.
His voice was muffled but he sounded familiar.
I ran my hands through my hair, scoffing, "Yea you know that's not how we do it here."
The men were silent. I pointed my chin to the crates of goods, "Let me see."
I notice the stiffness of the atmosphere. Something's up.
As soon as I took a step forward, guns pulled out at me and I swiftly pulled my own at the same time, aiming it at one of their men.
"8 guns on me, 1 gun on you? That doesn't seem fair does it? What're you guys hiding?" I asked in a stern tone.
Nobody moved. Nobody replied.
I raised my voice, "Is everyone here deaf?! Answer me!"
I must've shocked a member as he took a shot at me but missed. I ducked and sent a fist to his lower abdomen. My sunglasses fell off as I elbowed his back, causing him to flop onto the ground with a loud thud.
"Aish, just let me see that damn crate!" I yelled.
Everyone was still and silent. They lowered their guns.
"Yeona?"
A soft, deep voice called my name. A voice that softened every bit of hardness in my heart. I yearned to hear him call my name for 5 years.
I turned my head. The man who called out to me, took off his fedora hat and his mask.
"S-Seonghwa..."
I wanted to run to him. I wanted to hug him so tight that I would never let him go.
The man whom I tackled, groaned as he got up, "Damn Yeona got stronger. I think I bruised my stomach."
"Oh god, I am so sorry Yeosang."
With my hand on my chest, I fought back my tears.
"Yeona..." The voice called out to me again.
Seonghwa approached my figure, his ammos falling onto the ground. He kept his gun back into his belt as he got closer.
Him doing so, made me realize he still has trust in me.
I felt his warm touch holding my cheek as our eyes gazed into each others.
"You changed," he started. "Your hair is brown and really long, you don't have those baby bangs anymore."
"And you-I missed you...you guys are-"
Before I could further say anything, the warehouse door banged open. We quickly pulled apart.
NCT came filing in, their guns aimed at the boys.
"Guys hold up!" I ordered. The men halted.
Seonghwa seemed startled by my exceedingly loud voice and how I led my team.
"Sorry I'm late. I'll sign it and we go. My bad."
Dad made it a point that if I go alone for deals and I don't come out within a specified amount of time, the others will come in after me.
Taeyong walked in, putting his arm around my waist as he side-eyed everyone in the room.
I headed over to the table where Hongjoong stood. I signed the paper and handed the briefcase over.
"Make sure that crate gets to my people," I professionally said to Hongjoong.
I notice Seonghwa's eyes were firing bullets at Taeyong while Taeyong smugly walked out with me.
Taeyong got into the driver's seat of my car, starting up the engine as I buckled my seatbelt.
"What took you so long?" He asked, his hand on my back rest.
I shrugged, "Those guys took a while to show me the crate but it's good."
He chuckled, "Ahh...they must be new to the industry. Never heard of them Fellaz. Sounds cocky to me."
Biting down my lips, I watched as the warehouse disappeared behind us through the side mirror.
I wish I had enough time to say more than I missed you...
