"Yeon, we need to get up now."

My alarm didn't even ring yet. A pair of hands pulled my arms forward, forcing me out of bed.

I rubbed my eyes, "What's happening? Is there a fire?"

"Your first day of training. We get up at 6am," Seonghwa softly said as he brushed my hair back with his fingers.

I groaned, "Damn..."

---

"Y'all have a gym?!" I gasped entering the fully equipped gym room.

A boxing ring sat in the center of the room with all the other equipment surrounding it. A long floor to ceiling window lined one side of the gym revealing the landscape view of the scenery. Considering the gym is located on the top floor, the scenery was pretty nice. We could see a small part of town from here.

I watched as Seonghwa pulled the curtains close and prepared a clipboard and a pen. He told me it's to protect us from getting spied on from afar and for note taking my stamina, my timing records etc.

We started off with simple warm ups, followed by workouts. Our lunch break consisted of three potatoes, a banana and milk. The rest of the day was a heck load of defense and attack techniques.

By 4pm, I flopped onto the ground.

"Babe, must we really squeeze learning everything in one day?"

Seonghwa handed me a cold towel and sat down next to my spot.

"Uhm-this is how we train?" He replied, before chugging down a bottle of water.

Just then,

"How's training going?" Mingi, Yeosang and Hongjoong barged in looking proud.

"She's doing above average actually, and I'm not just being biased," Seonghwa answered handing the clipboard of records to Hongjoong.

Hongjoong nodded, "I kinda expected this. You were tough to begin with."

I fist bumped him and noticed the file Yeosang held in his hand. I pointed my chin at it.

"What's that?"

Yeosang held out the file, "Oh this? Mingi and I finished the forged papers and data records. We lied that you've been with us for a year and that you've been on 3 missions too."

I opened the file, Seonghwa peeping in his head to look.

"So it says here, I went undercover to YGI for an issue with a fraud drug dealer, dealt weapons with Seonghwa and fought alongside SKZ hence building alliance of KQ with JYPT against YGI??"

I looked up from the file, "I don't understand half of what's written here."

Mingi took the file from me shrugging, "You don't have to understand. Just know you work with us now."

Hongjoong nudged Seonghwa, "When do you think she'll be ready?"

Seonghwa took a long look at me, with a look that looks as if he's calculating math in his head.

"Three days? She's a fast learner."

So that's it. I'll be seeing my parents in three days and declining the offer to join them because I am a "member" of KQ.

---

Three days later...

Yeosang hands me a leather jacket, the same with what everyone else was wearing.

I tied my hair into a messy bun, and combed down my wispy bangs with my fingers.

Seonghwa got into the driver's seat as everyone else climbed into the back.

Taking a deep breath, I slide into the passenger's seat and pulled on my seatbelt.

"Ready baby?" Seonghwa asked in english as he turned on the engine.

I nodded, "Let's go."

SME was located at the heart of Seoul. Their headquarters hiding among other innocent buildings. They conquered the penthouse of a hotel owned by, apparently my biological father.

As we arrived, 4 tall men escorted us in a group into the classy VIP elevator.

I guess Seonghwa sensed my nervousness as I felt his fingers entwined with mine.

My ears popped as the elevator ding-ed indicating our arrival at the very top floor.

The door opened to a very bright space. Windows that stretched all the way up to the high ceilings. White chandeliers dangled from the top. The furniture was either white, porcelain or gold.

I gulped.

Fancy much?

"Yeona?" A soft female voice greeted us and mom emerged from behind a door.

I nearly didn't recognise her in her classy rich people outfit. She looked like one of those mean, rich, mother-in-laws from melodramatic dramas.

She even had one of those silk scarfs wrapped around her shoulders.

"I didn't mean to hide him from you, but please meet your real father," she smiled brightly and my gaze turned to a familiar man whom I saw once at the party.

His thick black hair was slicked back and he wore one of those elegant black suits. He looks quite young too. Probably in his early 40s?

Oh come on, do they always dress like this even at home?

The man open his arms as if to welcome me into his life.

I held back. There's no way I'm hugging that dude who ran off after getting my mom pregnant at 17, forcing us to struggle in life and only to welcome us back 18 years later.

He awkwardly cleared his throat, bringing down his arms.

"So, I assume you're coming home and you've brought your friends to join us?"

I smiled to seem friendly, not wanting any trouble.

"Sorry, I'm here today to turn down your offer. I'm glad to know that mom is safe and happy again but I don't want to join you."

Mom's gaze fell on my hand that was holding Seonghwa's.

She frowned, "Are you-? You're not dating this boy are you?"

"As a matter of fact, I am. And I'm also their member. I'm not leaving them. They're my family too." I side hugged Seonghwa's arm while glancing at San who stood next to me.

The older man who's supposedly my biological dad, didn't look too happy.

He growled, "We are your biological parents! You are the rightful heir of SME!"

"A parent is supposed to be someone who raises a child. Someone who provides and loves without any conditions. Where were you 18 years ago?" I fiercely replied in a low tone, feeling unfair.

I paused, seeing he had no reply, I spoke carefully, "Sir, I may be a person whom you accidentally had with mom. But you are definitely not a dad to me. And I am definitely not going to be your heir."

My gaze turned to mom who had tears gleaming in her eyes, "Mom, I'm glad you're better. But whatever affairs you have from here on, will not concern me anymore. Leave me out of it. Please."

Bowing politely, I turned my back on my parents, the other members doing the same.

We were heading for the lift lobby when I hear a faint snicker from behind our backs, "You don't have a choice Yeona. After all, blood is thicker than water."
