Sitting on the lip of the deck, T'rialow plucked up a stick and began to trace lines on the ground, ending them with stars for all the people in her life that have died loving her.
Her mother, her father, Solvexas, Patience... the mongrels who had lived beside her through her childhood, scrunching up her paw, she was disgusted at herself for forgetting them. Their names came out as nothing, their voices came out as whistles, and their faces came out as blurred picture. Well, all but one... Valarian, a boy around her age, their parents believed that they'd one day fall in love.
Throwing down the stick, T'rialow felt sick to her stomach. He should be alive, not her, he should've travelled the stars and fell in love with another. Instead, his body was probably laid to rest beneath the snow, with a blaster shot to his small frame. The force had truly messed up, she didn't deserve this power, this privilege...
She didn't get to walk the path of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lorave, or her female togruta friend... They were all gifted because they were strong, willing, and kind. The mongrel, the feral fighter, the warrior with sunset eyes? What noble titles, with derogative meanings when those saw who was bestowed such names.
Standing up, T'rialow didn't turn around to say anything to Cara Dune or Mando, as she slipped out of the farm grounds into the towering forest. Watching her go, the two felt something amiss in the air, her aura more dangerous, more electric, than it was on the battlefield mere weeks ago. Since then, she had been gradually growing more distant, as if the knock to the ground had rebooted a part of herself she tried to shut off.
"How did a solitary mandalorian come to be with a solitary mongrel?" Cara asked, sloshing her spoychka around sluggishly,"aren't you two ancient enemies?"
Mando could remember it all, the day he met the feral mongrel who truly lived up to her name and more. Landing his ship on that dusty planet, the only thing he was mesmerised by was her. Running across the dusty floors, her elegant, crystallised hair tearing through the air, her ears pointing back as she snarled at the men chasing her.
Than, knocking into him. He could've moved out of her way, a simple side step would've sufficed, but a part of his brain choose to lock him into place so he'd have a reason to talk to her. Although, he did feel like shit when he heard her head smack against his beskar covered chest.
But, her voice carried him as she called out in the native tongue of the children of mandalore, her eyes taunting his heart with their beautiful glare. Feeling her hand on his made him never want to leave her side, so shooting those men coming after her felt like nothing...
For his mind made him believe he had saved a queen of ice.
"Her abilities help with catching the bounties," was all he said.
"Bullshit," Cara scoffed, watching as Omera smiled up at Mando, his helmet tracing her silhouette around the farm.
She really wondered, how he had come to have two beautiful ladies staring at him, and he was dumb enough not to pick at least one. Shaking her tousled hair, she wondered if she'd be able to snag the mongrels attention if the mandalorian wasn't quick enough on his feet or if he chose the human. Love triangles were fucking weird, especially when two of them were oblivious whilst the other one was just too sweet.
"So..." she wondered, breaking the awkward silence that began to bubble,"what happens if you take that thing off? They come after you and kill you?"
Wondering where this line of questioning was heading, he sighed,"If someone or something sees you without it on, you just can't ever put it back on again."
"That's it?" Cara exasperated,"so you can slip off the helmet, and settle down with that beautiful young widow, and raise your kid sitting here, sipping spotchka?"
