The body was found dead due to blood loss. The news spread like a wild fire and up until now, it haunts me.

I mean, it's clearly defense because he tried to attack me but I can't help but to get haunted by nightmare. I witness how hard he got slam at the ground by just one kick from Vlad. I saw how his blood drip on the ground that time... And yet we run away.

He died from that attack for freaking sake! How can I calm down at this state?

"… But, Clyden, the investigation is getting deeper! They can trace Vlad anytime. It may be a defense but he died! They can flip the table at the court!" I expressed in panic. I don't know what to do, too much pressure is giving me head ache in these few days. I can't even fall asleep because everytime I did, nightmare is always waiting.

Clyden pulled me closer to him and make me sat on his lap. He then, kissed my back while holding my hand tightly.

"Darling, you need to calm down. Look at them, they're cool as ever. As long as they're calm, you better calm as well. They can handle the situation, trust them, they're team for a reason." He said proudly that made me stop.

Come to think of it, it's been three days but there's no officer who came after us. Although, it's not enough reason for me to chill. The case is still going on, and they won't stop until they caught the suspect.

I stared at those mens for a moment. They seems acting like a fool just like as usual, specially Vlad who seems not affected at all. I sighed.

"So... What's your plan this coming summer?" Clyden asked to change the topic. I remain silent and thought about it.

I shrugged. "I have none."

"Then what about vacation together?" He suggested that lighten up my mood.

"Not bad. But is that really okay? I mean, the war between rebells aren't stopping yet. The country is facing a lot of issue. I'm a reporter you know? I can't just chill somewhere and enjoy in such situation like this. Another thing, Red says that someone is tailing me lately... They don't harm me tho." I replied that made Clyden nod.

He sighed. "We can't stop them, they're making havoc all over the country. And you... As a reporter should avoid getting involve anymore, you're putting yourself in danger. I mean I can protect you of course, but as much as possible I don't want you to get involve to them."

"Says the guy who's literally involve." I whisper but Clyden heard, he sighed.

"I'm no longer connected to them. I left everything to the past. Since the day I got you, I decide to live in peace with you, for as muc as possible I don't want you to get involve to my past. But the fact that they're pulling you to the mess... I won't let that slide."

He confess that made me still. I'd never knew anything about his past, but hearing these things from him. I can't help but to move into tears.

He left everything in the past because he wanted to live a peaceful life with me. That's too much. I feel so much loved.

Clyden caressed my hair gently, "it's you we are talking here, it's a different story. I bet my everything to keep you, so I hate the idea of them threating your life. If they try me, it's their loss, not mine." He said with a dark expression that I'd never seen before. It is like I was facing a different person.

Out of intimidation, I change my seat at the couch to keep our distance.

Clyden chuckled when he notice my sudden action. "What's wrong?" He asked innocently like nothing happened. I force a chuckle and shook my head.

I pulled myself together and pouted. "Can't we just ignore them? I think everything will end soon. I don't want you ti get involve, either."

Clyden kissed my forehead. "Nothing will end until one is defeated. If I have to get back to that lifestyle in order to protect you, I'm willing to."
