I had never gotten a good chance to talk to Haise, thankfully, now that I was working with him, I would get plenty of opportunities. Hell, chances are I'd be living with them half the time... oh... oh no... Iris no... please... don't leave the house a mess in my absence, please. 

Anyway! The Quinks had a target come through, some C-class ghoul just to give them a test drive. I would help out, but I chose not to order anyone around. Urie was placed as the squad lead, with Haise being the mentor. I would've gone for the same choice, though the ambition he harbours may screw him over. 

I found myself in the main living area of the chateau, sitting there reading through text messages on my phone before browsing social media sites. But, my respite was not to be enjoyed, Haise called me out of the room to talk privately. 

Sighing, I got up and followed him to his room. There he welcomed me in, which I of course thanked him for. Upon stepping into the room he shut the door and locked it, crossing his arms and glaring at me.

Haise: Just what are you?

Y/n: Haise, if you haven't been told, you don't need to know

Haise: Mado told me to ask you

Y/n: Of course she did. Ok, I'll put it like this. I am a member of a very select group of people known for their incredible adaptability

He simply nodded and crossed his arms. He didn't know much about me. We met through Juzo after all... but oh I know so much about you Kaneki. 

Y/n: How long have you been awake now?

Haise: About a year, why?

Y/n: Getting near to your birthday then, isn't it?

What a topic change by me. I of course knew the date he became Haise, but hey, he doesn't know I know. 

Haise: Yeah, hopefully, we catch this ghoul before that happens

Y/n: What do we have on it?

Haise: Classic case, a ghoul killing a few humans here and there, very little evidence

Y/n: Shouldn't be an issue. Are we getting any support on this one?

Haise: Aside from yourself? Just Mado

I smiled at that.

Y/n: Good, she is quite the reliable one

Haise: I heard about how you took down sin in a day... mind explaining?

Y/n: A good deal of skill, a good partner, and a little bit of luck

Haise: The report also said sin was at least an A-class ghoul, and you took him out singlehandedly 

Y/n: I'm good at what I do. When do we start hunting for this ghoul?

Haise: Whenever we're ready

I glared at him

Haise: Which should be by tomorrow

Y/n: Good, I want to see what you can do.

The next day rolled around, Camellia and I enjoyed some time together, she had grown a lot from the manipulative creature that once took the place of the one I loved. Once I made it to the Chateau I was greeted with all the members of the Quinx Squad gearing up.

Urie: You're a bit late

Y/n: I was busy procuring ample transport

Shirazu: What kind of transport?

Y/n: An APC

They all stopped and looked at me

Y/n: Joking, got an armoured limo instead. I will be driving. I'll be waiting outside to brief you all
