Keeping a hive hidden from Blackwatch is bloody hard, and near impossible from the rest of our little squad. We really need a team name. Of course, I couldn't actually do much if they chose to pay attention to the hive, which everyone did... including Heller. Shit, I didn't think of him. I may have fucked up.
You see, I now have what equates to an army, which I can use against him and his allies in Aogiri Tree. Furthermore, given we, Iris, Camellia, Alex and I, outnumber him, he'll be feeling pressured.
I can guarantee all of their willingness to take on Heller too. The ones you may question is Iris and Camellia. Camellia hates Heller because I hate him... plus I think they fought a couple of times. Iris is a small bit complicated. Absence from the little group gathering we had when she first woke up has put Heller on Iris' bad side from the get-go. Destruction of her little gathering spot had made her a small bit annoyed too.
Iris had also grown a small bit fond of Kaneki, to the extent where she isn't trying to figure out if murdering him would be smart. So, we've all got reasons to dislike Heller at best, and I doubt he doesn't know this.
Now, put yourself in Heller's shoes. You have three of your equals, with experience to either surpass or match your own, an objectively superior being backing them up and a squad of at least competent fighters and at most the most feared ghoul to yet exist (yes we knew, how couldn't we?). And now, one of them has set up an army on the border with the force you ally yourself with.
So, what would the game plan be? Well, match your opponent however you can. Aogiri Tree and Antikeu can be removed from the equation, they have the CCG to focus on. So, then we move onto the army of mine... well you set up your own. That leaves him at a deficit of two equals and one superior thing.
Fixing that is a small bit more challenging. We don't know the strength of Pariah, not fully anyway. And we also don't infect people lightly. There is a selection process most of the time and we can't go infecting people just cause. Why? Well a number of reasons. It used to be the genetics would limit us, but that has recently become the exception, ghouls not included. Now however, it's more of a question of loyalty and mental stability among other things.
Can they take the stress? Camellia was a good example of what happens when they can't. Camellia has done terrible things most of us restrain from doing. Can they accept their new situation? Alex himself is a good example, though he adept quickly. There are more, but I'd rather get on with the story now.
I was considering all of this at my home, Touka was over with Hinami. They were in the area so chose to stop by. Of course Iris was present, still leaching. Camellia was out in her section of Tokyo, Alex was doing the same.
Now I hear you bring up the point "but wait, your hive is in the south of Tokyo, beyond where Iris said you could go." Well... yes... I had the North West, wards 14 through 20, and my hive was in the 13th ward, Camellias territory, 9 through 13. (This leaves Alex with every remaining ward apart from the first 4 of the 23, which is CCG owned )
However, our dear friend Ken Kaneki had been making issues for us. You see, he was taking Aogiri Tree on a rampage through Tokyo and we had to secure our presence. I'm allowed to keep the hive on the condition that I only use it to combat threats to our power in the city.
That's right, our little infected band has entered into the territory war of Tokyo. My entrance into the conflict also cemented our position as someone not to mess with. I threw Kaneki into a building.
Iris: You just going to sit there and contemplate while we have guests?
That snapped me out of my deep thought. I looked over at the group, Touka was reading a textbook on the floor, leaning on the wall near to Hinami and Iris, who were sitting at a table. Iris was helping Hinami with reading.
