So after the fact that I explained that yes I killed another ghoul and gained his special ability that I can't be bothered to remember the name of, I was sent back to work. Soon however, a woman and her daughter came into the café. They were soaking wet.
Kaneki: Hello, welcome to Ant-
Touka: Ryouko, Hinami!
Touka rushed over to them and brought them inside. Soon enough Touka was fussing over them with Kankei's help. She was barking orders at him like a drill sergeant
Touka: Y/n, why aren't you helping?
Y/n: Store is still open, might get a customer
Kaneki: Actually, I closed it when they came in
I glared at Kaneki, so hard
Y/n: Well, they're drenched, I ain't touching
Touka: Fine, go get some more towels
I mockingly bowed and went to complete the task given to me by the purple haired edge lady. Once I had retrieved these towels I decided to get my psychologist on... lies I just wanted to see that girl smile.
I pulled up chairs for everyone to sit on, they were still getting dried off. Ryouko sat down with Hinami on her lap. Kaneki sat with a pile of towels on his lap, his hands stiff on his knees. Touka didn't sit down, I was lounging about on a chair
Y/n: You all need to relax
Oh the glare I got from Touka... the glare
Y/n: I find it best to act as nothing has changed in order to calm down. There's no point fussing over stuff you can't change. You travel anywhere Hinami?
She shook her head. She seemed suspicious of me... oh right, I smell funny to these people
Y/n: I have, I was born in Britain, Oxford to be exact. Moved to the States after a while, then moved here a while after... a while after New York got it's new name
I was hoping Hinami wouldn't know exactly what happened there, and I was lucky she didn't
Ryouko: How are you finding Japan?
Y/n: A little strange, both culturally and with the people here, but this little coffee shop reminds me of home somewhat
I got up and made some tea, this raised an eyebrow from Ryouko, to which I sighed
Y/n: Go on, ask the question
Ryouko: What are you?
Y/n: Well... I'm no ghoul, not like any of you. Nor am I human, though many governments worldwide would officially have me labelled as a bio-terrorist. Touka... could you take Hinami upstairs, she trusts you
Touka nodded. I couldn't avoid telling Ryouko the whole truth if she were staying here for a prolonged period of time. Besides, she's a mother, she has a right to know... for her child. By the time I finished that thought Touka was upstairs with Hinami. I took a sip of my tea before talking
Y/n: Do you know what happened in New York?
Ryouko: To a degree. A man named Alex Mercer released a virus at Pen Station. It caused many deaths and lots of riots. Then he did the same thing again a year later
Y/n: That... that isn't what happened. Alex Mercer was killed at Pen Station the first time. FBI I think with MP5's, about 30 rounds. The virus he released was developed by GenTek, he had intended to destroy it safely, however he had to try when he was cornered
Ryouko: If he died at the start of the first outbreak, then what happened the second time?
Y/n: He released it at Pen Station. Something I should explain is that when he died, the virus made it's way into him. Now what happened to him was rare. He became what is known as "Blacklight", the virus that was responsible for the zombies, what the government called riots, at least at first, is called "Redlight". Redlight can be released by Blacklight, and Blacklight can occur within Redlight, however it is more common for the Virus to make another of itself, Blacklight to Blacklight, Red to red.
