APRIL FOOL :P
NB: Hey no, this is NOT the continuation of the story x) I decided to make a mini story for April 1st because why not ? (clearer reason explained at the end, I don't want to spoil at the beginning x) So here's a little bonus that I hope is funnier than my last chapter (which was pretty heavy) haha :D
I want to make it clear that this story has nothing to do with the main plot/my current story! It's about another space-time in which Childe and Lumine are happy ^^
---
Lumine's expression changed to shock and awe when she saw an immeasurable mass, shaped like a narwhal.
How did we get here...
◆ ◆ ◆
It was a normal day at Liyue Harbor. Lumine was hanging out with her favorite Harbinger, Tartaglia, from his nickname Childe. Lately, they had started dating, to the amazement of everyone they knew.
Lumine, craving to redo her interior and change her bag, had caught Childe on the fly at the Northland Bank to go shopping with her immensely rich boyfriend. Usually, Childe insisted on paying for everything, which Lumine categorically refused to do every time. Today, however, was different. She wanted to splurge, so why not allow Childe to give her what she wanted?
And so, while everyone would have thought it was a kidnapping, Childe willingly accompanied his beloved. He nevertheless put only one condition to this unexpected outing obliging him to postpone his work of the day: he will offer a gift to Lumine without her having chosen it, and she would not have the right to refuse it, no matter what it was.
The young woman had accepted while silently thinking about what crazy gift this dear Eleventh Harbinger had in mind. Anyway, she would know soon enough, so she preferred to concentrate on what she had listed: a lamp, a painting, some sheets, and a new bag.
So they strolled through the shopping streets of the Harbor, even entering the fanciest stores, dazzling Lumine with the number of zeros lined up on the prices of the items. Childe didn't even look at the prices before offering them to Lumine. This was the attitude of a rich man, Lumine thought.
Once the day was well underway and their arms were full of purchases for the young woman, they returned to her apartment to drop off everything.
"A dinner to end the evening, Ojou-chan?" he asked with a smirk.
"Who would I be to refuse when it's so kindly offered?" Lumine laughed in return, walking up to him and placing a kiss on his lips.
"Shall we go? I'm starving to death!"
She ran out of the apartment, forcing Childe to run back to catch up with her. The day had gone so well that she was in a playful mood tonight.
As they walked arm in arm toward a restaurant with exorbitant prices, Childe's attention was caught by something.
Not understanding why he stopped, Lumine turned her questioning gaze to him.
"Hmm?"
"Do you remember the condition for this day? Well it's time for your surprise gift!"
Lumine was more intrigued than worried, so she followed Childe unabashedly to the object of his lust.
An archery range was set up on the edge of the harbor. It was actually more of a mini-game to attract tourists with prizes than a real archery range.
Childe was smiling broadly as he watched the various prizes being awarded based on the score.
He asked to participate. The range manager recognized the Eleventh Harbinger and was reluctant to have his entire range robbed by the latter's exceptional archery skills. Childe had to reassure him that he would only take one prize so that he would finally let him play the mini-game.
The goal was to blow up ten balloons in a limited time. Of course, Childe succeeded without an ounce of effort.
After getting the maximum score, the stand manager could only offer his prizes according to this score. Childe had a choice between: a sword that looked more bling than anything else, two poor sinister masks of Hilichurls, or...a third option which of course Childe took.
A few moments later, Lumine found herself with a giant, almost translucent narwhal-shaped stuffed animal in her arms. Although she said she was sulking because everyone was looking at her strangely, she still let go of her soft toy, which was as soft as an Anemo slime and reminded her of the person she loved who was walking beside her.
Childe looked at her with a smirk on his face, satisfied to see that the narwhal's plush had been unanimously adopted by Lumine...
A narwhal is kind of a fish, don't you think? :D
